COAL MINISTER’S AWARD 2022-23

Shri Pralhad Joshi, Union Minister of Coal, Mines and Parliamentary Affairs, gave away the Coal Minister’s Award for the year 2022-23 in a function held in New Delhi. These awards were conferred on the coal companies for excellence in various categories.

Central Coalfields Limited got the first prize for safety, with Northern Coalfields Limited and Mahanadi Coalfields Limited bagging the second and third position, in this category. Mahanadi Coalfields Limited was the winner in the Production and Productivity Category, with Northern Coalfields Limited and Bharat Coking Coal Limited in the second and third positions, respectively. The award for sustainability was won by Western Coalfields Limited, with Mahanadi Coalfields Limited and Central Coalfields securing second and third positions, respectively. For quality, Central Coalfields won the top honours, with Western Coalfields Limited and Mahanadi Coalfields Limited coming in second and third, respectively. The Award for Implementation of ERP was bagged by South Eastern Coalfields Limited, with Northern Coalfields Limited and Eastern Coalfields Limited securing second and third positions, respectively.

The Coal Minister’s Award for 2022-23 was also conferred upon Area General Managers of the coal-producing companies for their exemplary performance.
