Coal India will continue to meet the Nation’s requirements says Chairman

During the 76th Republic Day celebrations at Coal India’s corporate office in Kolkata, Chairman Shri P.M. Prasad reaffirmed the company’s commitment to energy independence for the nation. In his address to Coal India families, he emphasized the importance of ramping up coal production to meet India’s growing energy demands while minimizing reliance on imports. With India on track to exceed 1 billion tonnes of coal production this year, Coal India is expected to contribute approximately 70% of that total. Shri Prasad expressed confidence in the company’s role, stating, “As long as India needs coal, Coal India will continue to meet the Nation’s requirements and strive toward achieving set production targets.” The event commenced with the Chairman and Functional Directors paying floral tributes at the Martyrs Memorial and included the ceremonial hoisting of the National Flag and an inspection of the guard of honor.
