Continuing its commitment to community support and national goals through CSR initiatives, Coal India Limited (CIL) has launched CIL ASHIS (Ayushman Shiksha Sahayata). This scheme provides scholarships of Rs 45,000 per child per year for four years to children who lost their parents to COVID-19 and were unable to continue their studies. A total of 1,645 children have been identified by various High Courts for this scheme.
In a special programme commemorating 75 years of the Supreme Court of India, Hon’ble Chief Justice of India, Dhananjay Y Chandrachud, and Union Minister of State for Law & Justice, Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal, handed cheques to 25 children under CIL ASHIS and distributed 10 compassionate appointment letters out of the 424 total to dependents of Coal India employees who died in service.
Additional Secretary (Coal), Ms. Rupinder Brar, CIL Chairman Shri P.M. Prasad, Director P&IR Shri Vinay Ranjan, senior advocates, and officials from the Ministry of Coal were also present at the event.
