Shri P.M. Prasad, Chairman of Coal India, recently visited Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) in Nagpur to oversee ongoing operations and strategic planning. During his visit, he chaired a comprehensive review meeting focusing on key areas such as production, productivity, environmental sustainability, corporate social responsibility, and future growth plans. He appreciated WCL’s strong performance and expressed confidence in achieving better results in the current fiscal year.
Shri Prasad highlighted the importance of adopting new technologies, enhancing safety measures in mining activities, and ensuring effective planning. He reviewed the coal transportation system and provided valuable suggestions for improvement. WCL’s CMD, J.P. Dwivedi, shared progress and targets for 2025-26, confidently stating that the company is on track to meet its coal production goals. The meeting was attended by senior officials including Directors Ghosh and Pandey, Vigilance Officer Mhetre, and regional managers, all committed to driving WCL’s growth and operational excellence.
