The newly constructed Control Room of the Neemuch Transmission system was inaugurated by Shri R. K. Tyagi, CMD, Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) in the presence of Shri Abhay Choudhary, Director (Projects) POWERGRID, Smt. BaniVerma, Director BHEL, Shri T. Krishnakumar, ED, WR-II, POWERGRID, Shri Vikram Singh Bhal, ED (CMG-Coord.) POWERGRID, Sh. Subir Sen, ED (Eng.- TL), POWERGRID and other senior officials.
Sh. Tyagi reviewed the progress of the prestigious project which will enable evacuation of 500 MW RE from Rewa Ultra Mega Solar (RUMS) Park. It also includes 117 km long 400 kV double-circuit line from Neemuch PS to Chittorgarh substation (Rajasthan), 118 km long 400 kV double-circuit line from
Neemuch PS to Mandsaur substation (MP) and 2×500 MVA, 400/220 kV ICTs.
This project is an important step towards RE integration into the National Grid and a critical element of a net-zero future that will reduce reliance on fossil fuels and lower carbon emissions having far-reaching benefits for society. It will benefit the masses with the availability of robust & green power,
ensuring the increase in overall energy reliability.
