A Fireside Chat with Shri P. M. Prasad, Chairman, Coal India Limited, was held at the SECL Bilaspur. This unique interactive initiative provided employees an opportunity to engage directly with the Chairman in an open and inspiring dialogue. The session was moderated by Shri Biranchi Das, Director (Human Resources), SECL.
During the interaction, Shri Prasad shared insights from his rich professional journey and emphasized three key traits for success — focus, planning, and humility. He encouraged employees to remain calm in challenging situations and perform their duties sincerely, assuring that consistent effort always yields results.
Highlighting the importance of human connection in the mining industry, he urged employees to build strong relationships with villagers, workers, and local administrations, while reminding them that *“Your team is your biggest strength.”*
Looking ahead, Shri Prasad noted that emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) will play a transformative role in improving safety, productivity, and efficiency in the coal sector.
