Born Fighters: Neolacta Celebrates World Prematurity Day and Newborn Week

New Delhi, 28, November 2023: Neolacta, a leading advocate for improving access to human milk for hospitalised premature infants through an Exclusive Human Milk Diet (EHMD), recently commemorated World Prematurity Day and Newborn Week with a series of events designed to raise awareness about prematurity. This initiative not only showcased the company’s commitment to optimal choices in newborn nutrition but also provided hope and support to families with premature newborns.

To address the emotional and physical challenges faced by families with premature infants, Neolacta launched an interactive initiative within hospitals named “Born Fighters”. This initiative celebrated the lives of famous personalities who overcame the challenges of prematurity to leave an enduring mark on the world. Collaborating with 30+ hospitals across India, Neolacta engaged neonatologists, child health specialists, lactation consultants and nursing support groups to organize informational sessions for the 500+ parents in attendance.

Sunil Sreekakula, Country GM of NeoLacta Lifesciences, commented on the celebration, stating: “Every child deserves a healthy upbringing, and at NeoLacta, we are dedicated to providing optimal nutritional solutions and support for the unique needs of premature babies. We stand united in the mission to give every preterm infant the best chance for a thriving future.”

Recognizing the crucial role of healthcare professionals in supporting premature infants and their families, Neolacta engaged hospital staff and parents through the “Born Fighters” initiative.  This initiative covered 2023 World Prematurity Day theme of Kangaroo Mother Care and highlighted the importance of early nutritional interventions of EHMD. It also focused on the legacies of individuals born premature, showcasing that being a born fighter can set the stage for a life of extraordinary achievement and enduring impact.

Understanding the power of storytelling in fostering empathy and understanding, Neolacta collected and shared inspiring stories of families triumphing over the challenges of prematurity. These narratives will soon be featured on the company’s website, social media platforms, and within hospital settings, creating a platform for parents to connect, share experiences, and find solace in a community of individuals who have faced similar journeys. Fun quiz contests awarded winning parents with goodies and every premature baby received a “Born Fighter” certificate to celebrate their journey of facing the odds with courage, and emerging victorious – an ode to the indomitable human spirit.

In celebrating World Prematurity Day and Newborn Week, Neolacta not only demonstrated its commitment to corporate social responsibility but also succeeded in creating a ripple effect of awareness and support within hospital communities. Through engaging initiatives, educational programs, and heartfelt collaborations, the company contributed to building a more compassionate and informed society—one that stands united in offering hope and support to families facing the challenges of prematurity.
