The Grand Finale of the Bongaigaon Premier League (BPL) Season-5 took place at NTPC Bongaigaon, showcasing a thrilling match between Chakrashila Tuskers and Kaziranga Rhinos. The event, attended by dignitaries including Chief Guest Shri Debabrata Kar and Shri Asutosh Biswas, General Manager (Operation), celebrated the spirit of sportsmanship among NTPC employees and their families. Shri Kar commended the growing popularity of cricket within the organization, while Shri Biswas emphasized the importance of teamwork and the commendable efforts of the Sports Council in organizing the league.
Since its inception on February 14, 2020, BPL has become a highly anticipated annual cricketing event at NTPC Bongaigaon, witnessing an enthusiastic response from over 130 players this year alone. The league commenced on February 12, 2025, introducing exciting new features such as night matches played under floodlights, a Women’s Exhibition Match, and a Junior Match. The tournament utilized the CricHeroes live-scoring app for effective performance analysis, enhancing the overall experience for players.
In the final match, Chakrashila Tuskers triumphed over Kaziranga Rhinos by 30 runs, with standout performances from Shri Naman Bhade, who earned
the Player of the Match award for claiming four wickets, and Shri B Dhanasekhar, recognized as the Best Batter. The Tuskers’ victory marked their fifth consecutive final appearance, further solidifying their dominance in the tournament. With its innovative auction-based team selection process and focus on inclusivity, BPL Season-5 has exemplified cricket as a celebration of passion, unity, and dedication within the NTPC community.
