Bihar Set To Get Seven New Trains Including Three Amrit Bharat Express Services

Union Minister for Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw, along with Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, will flag off seven new trains — three Amrit Bharat and four passenger services — from Bihar on Monday.

The inauguration ceremony will be held at Patna Junction, with Vaishnaw joining the event through video conferencing.

The Amrit Bharat Express, known for its popularity among the middle class and common passengers, currently operates 12 services nationwide, with 10 of them running from Bihar. With the launch of three additional trains, the total number will rise to 15, with 13 operating from the state.

The newly inaugurated Amrit Bharat Express trains will run on three routes: Muzaffarpur to Charlapalli near Hyderabad, Darbhanga to Madar Junction near Ajmer, and Chhapra to Anand Vihar Terminal in Delhi. The Muzaffarpur–Charlapalli service will be the first Amrit Bharat train connecting Muzaffarpur to South India, while the Chhapra–Anand Vihar route will become Bihar’s sixth Amrit Bharat link to Delhi.

These state-of-the-art indigenous trains are designed to provide passengers with a fast, safe, and comfortable travel experience. They are expected to strengthen Bihar’s connectivity with different regions of the country, particularly North and South India, and contribute to the state’s economic growth by promoting tourism, trade, and employment opportunities.

Developed by Indian Railways, the Amrit Bharat Express has emerged as a symbol of modernization in the national railway system. The trains come equipped with advanced features, including semi-automatic couplers, fire detection systems, sealed gangways, and talk-back units. For the first time, advanced technology has also been introduced in non-AC coaches to enhance passenger safety.

In addition to the Amrit Bharat Express services, Union Minister Vaishnaw and Deputy Chief Minister Choudhary will also flag off four passenger trains to meet the needs of local commuters. These services will operate on the Patna–Buxar, Jhajha–Danapur, Patna–Islampur, and Nawada–Patna via Sheikhpura–Barbigha routes.

The new Nawada–Patna passenger train will operate six days a week via Sheikhpura, Barbigha, Asthawan, Bihar Sharif, and other towns, fulfilling a long-standing demand of local residents. Similarly, the Patna–Islampur and Nawada–Patna trains will run through the newly developed Jatdumri–Fazalchak–Top Sarthua–Daniyawan line, providing crucial connectivity for nearby regions. PIB
