The Central Ground Water Authority (CGWA), under the Ministry of Jal Shakti, in collaboration with the National Informatics Centre (NIC), has launched the “Bhu-Neer” portal, an advanced platform for improved groundwater regulation nationwide. Designed to enhance transparency, efficiency, and sustainability in groundwater management, the portal serves as a one-stop solution for groundwater withdrawal permits.
“Bhu-Neer” provides comprehensive insights into the legal framework governing groundwater extraction, consolidating regulations at state and national levels. Its centralized database enables easy access to vital information on groundwater compliance, policies, and sustainable practices.
Equipped with user-friendly features, “Bhu-Neer” streamlines the application process for project proponents seeking groundwater withdrawal permits. Key features include a simplified interface, a PAN-based single ID system, and NOC generation with QR codes, making it a significant upgrade from its predecessor, NOCAP.
Aligned with the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision of Ease of Doing Business, the portal facilitates seamless, faceless groundwater regulation. It is now live for public use, allowing users to manage queries, track application status, and pay statutory charges with ease.
