A series of Awareness Workshops on Employee Assistance Program (EAP) was held at the Gopabandhu Auditorium of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) on 21st and 22nd August 2025 for both executives and non-executives of the plant. The objective of the workshops was to create awareness among employees about mental health, workplace challenges and holistic wellbeing and help employees deal with their personal and professional issues by providing them psychological counselling and consulting. The workshop was divided into three sessions spread over one and half days. Mr. Manas Rath, CGM (HR), was present in all the sessions of the workshop and encouraged participants to utilize the program effectively for personal and professional growth. Around 150 employees in each session attended the workshop.
The sessions were conducted by Dr. Ekta Sanghi, Senior Psychologist and Mr. Manish Tomar from M/s EAP, who deliberated on crucial topics such as dealing with childhood trauma, managing workplace pressure and the importance of mental health awareness.
Notably, SAIL has introduced the counselling services for all SAIL employees and upto 3 (three) dependent family members. Messers EAP Private Limited has been selected as the service provider for carrying out the subject assignment. The above programme would be confidential and professional support available to all employees and their immediate family members. It would provide access to expert guidance and counselling on various personal and work-related issues, including mental health and emotional well-being, stress management, financial and legal concerns, work-life balance and family and relationship issues.
The program was well received by the participants, who actively engaged in the discussions and shared their experiences. The workshop was coordinated by Ms. Divya Sahu, AM (HR).
