NEW DELHI. During the 57th Convocation of the Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC), Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting, inaugurated the Creators’ Lounge. An extension of the institute’s Incubation Centre, this new space is designed to foster media entrepreneurship and bridge the gap between academia and industry. Under the leadership of Vice Chancellor Dr. Pragya Paliwal Gaur and Registrar Shri L. Madhu Nag, the initiative marks a major milestone in driving innovation within the media landscape.
The Minister spent time interacting with several promising startups incubated through collaborations with WaveX and FITT, IIT Delhi, including ventures like FolkTech Studios, Yologram, and Dcverse. The Creators’ Lounge serves as a dedicated environment for students and entrepreneurs to ideate, pitch, and collaborate on tech-driven media solutions. The project’s success was spearheaded by Prof. (Dr.) Anubhuti Yadav and Dr. Pawan Koundal, whose efforts have transformed the center into a vibrant hub for turning creative ideas into impactful institutional enterprises.
