Around 250 villagers benefit from the Multi-disciplinary Health Camp organized by Rourkela Steel Plant in Kuarmunda Block

A Multi-disciplinary Health Camp was organised by SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) at Ratkhandi Government UP School (Khadiatola), Ratakhandi village in Kuarmunda Block on 19th February. The camp was conducted by the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Department in association with the Medical and Health Services (M&HS) Department of RSP. Dr. Jayanta Acharya, CMO In-charge (M&HS), Dr. (Mrs) Prativa Sadangi, Additional CMO (M&HS), Ms. Munmun Mittra, GM I/c (CSR), Mr. B Mallick, GM(CSR), Mr. A N Paati, AGM (CSR), Ms. Richa Sudhiram, Manager (CSR) and others officials  of RSP visited the camp and interacted with the villagers.

The team of doctors of RSP who examined the patients were Dr. Debasish Ray (Medicine), Dr. Manabhanjan (Paediatrics), Dr. Priya (O&G), Dr. Puspa Kumari, (Ompthalmology), Dr. Jyoti Ranjan Sahoo, (Surgery), Dr. Madhusmita Hota, (ENT). They were assisted by Mr. Partha Sarathi Sarangi, Mr. Lingaraj Pradhan, Ms. Susmi and Mr. B K Mohapatra, CSR Coordinator.

246 patients were examined in the camp and were provided free medicines and consultation. Besides, 21 patients were identified for further treatment at Ispat General Hospital under various CSR schemes namely Project Sunayana for free eye surgery under, Project Sushruti for medical intervention of people with hearing ailments, Project Charak for provision of free surgical interventions, Project Surabhi for treatment of gynaecological disorders and Project Akshay for treatment of TB.

It is worth mentioning here that the Medical camps are being organised by RSP in peripheral villages not only reach out to the people living in remote villages but also extend expensive surgical interventions for free treatment at IGH to the identified people suffering from grave ailments.
