Apprenticeship opportunities open at Rourkela Steel Plant under the Apprentices Act, 1961

Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP), a unit of Maharatna Steel Conglomerate SAIL, is inviting applications from eligible candidates for undergoing Apprenticeship Training for a period of one year under the Apprentices Act, 1961/1973. Apprenticeship Training will be provided to 440 candidates under Trade Apprentices with ITI qualification, 271 Technician Apprentices with Diploma qualification and 105 Graduate Apprentices with B.Tech. qualification. The selected apprentices will receive a monthly stipend as per the Apprentices Act, 1961 and Apprenticeship Rules, 1992 (as amended from time to time). The eligible candidates should be Minimum 18 years and maximum 28 years of age as on 31st August 2025. The selection of the apprentices will be based on merit, considering the percentage of marks obtained in the final qualifying examination of the respective trade or discipline. Reservation & Relaxation will be provided as per Government of Odisha guidelines.

The candidates have to register online on the relevant Government of India apprenticeship portals before applying for Trade Apprentices (ITI) i.e. https://apprenticeshipindia.gov.in, for Graduate/Technician Apprentices (Degree/Diploma) in https://nats.education.gov.in .

Candidates should have a valid email ID and mobile number for future communications. After registration, applicants must apply specifically under the establishment name “SAIL Rourkela Steel Plant” as per instructions on the portals. Incomplete applications or applications not submitted on the respective portals will not be considered.

The Last date for application submission is 31st August, 2025. Preference will be given to eligible candidates from Sundargarh district. Applications from other districts of Odisha and other states will be considered only if vacancies remain unfilled. It is noteworthy that RSP does not guarantee permanent employment post apprenticeship.
