Annual Day Celebration and Prize Giving ceremony held at   Deepika Ispat Sikshya Sadan

The Annual Day Celebration and Prize giving ceremony was held at Deepika Ispat Sikshya Sadan on 28th January. Mr. Tarun Misra, ED (HR) was the Chief Guest of the function, while Mrs. Namrta Verma, President, Deepika Mahila Sanghati was the Guest of Honour. The other Special Guests were Mrs. Pravati Misra and Mrs. Nabanita Pal Choudhury, the Vice Presidents of DMS, who adorned the dais. Present on the occasion were Ms. Munmun Mittra, GM In-charge (CSR), Mr. B Mallick, GM (CSR), Mr. T B Toppo, AGM (CSR), Ms. Sarika Kumar, Secretary (DMS), other Members of the Governing Body, Mr. S Samal, Headmaster (DISS), Mr. S K Mishra, School Administrator, teachers, staff and students. The programme was inaugurated with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the dignitaries.

It is worth mentioning here that Deepika Ispat Sikshya Sadan, a free school set up by Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) and run by Deepika Mahila Sangahti is imparting education to around 900 underprivileged students. Apart from free education the students area also provided with all the school accessories and nutritious midday meal.

Addressing the students, Mr.  Tarun Misra encouraged them to excel in every field and carve a niche for themselves in the society. He appreciated the hard work of teachers and staff in taking school to greater heights and urged them to continue the noble work of building future citizens.

Citing examples of Dr. B R Ambedkar and former President Abdul Kalam Azad,  Mrs Namrata Verma encouraged the students to aim high and work relentlessly towards it for carving a better future and contributing meaningfully towards the society. 

The dignitaries presented the general proficiency awards, the prizes for different school level competitions as well as awards to the winners of various sporting events. The Drama team of the school, who staged the show “Mr. Gabridon’, were also felicitated for winning various prizes at the State Level Drama competition.

The mesmerising cultural programme put up by the students added to the beauty of the celebration.

During the programme the Headmaster presented the Annual Report of the School. At the outset Ms. Bijayani Jena, Senior Teacher welcomed the gathering while Ms. Monalisa Gouda, Assistant Teacher of the school proposed a formal vote of thanks.
