HYDERABAD. At India Energy Week 2026 on 29 January, the Government of Andhra Pradesh announced a major energy efficiency initiative under the PMAY Housing for All scheme. The Andhra Pradesh State Housing Corporation Limited and the AP State Energy Efficiency Development Corporation signed an agreement to supply energy-efficient appliances to five lakh PMAY houses across the state.
Under this initiative, each beneficiary household will receive LED bulbs, LED batten tube lights and energy-saving BLDC fans. These appliances will help households save nearly seven hundred rupees every year on electricity bills. The programme aims to reduce overall power consumption, lower the burden on electricity distribution companies and promote affordable and sustainable living for families across Andhra Pradesh.
