Alumni of Ispat English Medium School Sector-20 express their earnest gratitude to the school for shaping their lives   

“This school is like a pilgrimage. The value you learn from school stays with you forever” says Mr. Jaisen Mody, an alumnus of the Class of 1966, of Ispat English Medium School, Sector-20 reminiscing about the cherished memories of the school while attending the Diamond Jubilee Celebration of IEMS. The oldest alumni to attend the celebration, Mr. Mody, is a retired Electrical Engineer from Portland, Oregon, who had last visited his alma mater in 1972 and wishes to visit again.

Mr. Anil Anand, a Chartered Accountant at New Jersey, USA, said, “This school gave us the foundation to do everything in life, not just education. We are immensely grateful to the school and the teachers for shaping our lives.” Sharing a fondest memory of the school, Mr Anand narrated how by mistakenly he broke some lab equipments and in spite of punishing him, the Lab Assistant, Mr. Sen lovingly told him not to worry and let him go. “I think it is all because of this school that we learnt all that and it has helped us a lot. Without this school, we won’t be where we are in our life” he added.

IEMS has shaped my career in a way that it let you face every challenges and situation and keep you grounded as well” said Ms. Kumarika Mohanty, an IT senior professional with over 20 years of experience in Infosys.

Notably, the gala event attended by more than 200 distinguished alumni from across the globe created a vibrant tapestry of nostalgia, pride, and joy.

Mr. Brijesh Kumar Rai, IPS, DIG Western Range was the Chief Guest of the function on the concluding day, i.e., 17th November 2024.

Eminent dignitaries graced the occasion, delivering inspiring addresses that highlighted the school’s remarkable journey of 60 years. The program also featured a special session on the legacy of IEMS, encapsulated in a heartfelt segment titled “Necrology,” reflecting on the institution’s contributions to education and community building.

A key highlight was the felicitation ceremony, where ex-teachers and notable dignitaries were honored for their invaluable contributions to the institution’s legacy.

The concluding event reached its zenith with a mesmerizing cultural program performed by the alumni, along with professionals showcasing their talent and rekindling cherished memories.
