Adani Wilmar’s CSR Project Fortune SuPoshan Wins Indian CSR Award

~ Recognized for its transformative impact on rural children’s healthcare and nutrition ~

~ Over 1,000 SuPoshan Sanginis have positively impacted the lives of 2-million people
since 2016 ~

Bengaluru, 2nd December 2024 – Adani Wilmar Limited, one of India’s largest food and FMCG companies, has proudly received the ‘Best Rural Children Healthcare Initiative of the Year – 2024’ award for its flagship CSR initiative, the Fortune SuPoshan, at the prestigious Indian CSR Awards 2024 in New Delhi. This recognition celebrates the program’s significant contributions toward combating malnutrition and anaemia in rural India, focusing on children, adolescent girls and women in reproductive.

Launched in 2016, the Fortune SuPoshan program is an initiative of Adani Wilmar, implemented by Adani Foundation, the CSR arm of the Adani Group. The project has been making a significant impact on countless lives with its unique approach that involves active engagement with stakeholders, including gram panchayats, local governing bodies, healthcare facilities, and ASHA workers.

Commenting on the achievement, Mr. Angshu Mallick, MD & CEO of Adani Wilmar Limited, said, “We are honoured to receive this recognition for the Fortune SuPoshan program, which highlights our commitment to improving health & nutritional outcomes at the grassroots level. Addressing malnutrition and anaemia, which are linked to nutrition, is critical. As India’s largest food company, we believe it is our responsibility to drive impactful change in this area. This award validates the transformative work of our SuPoshan Sanginis and the support we receive from our partners in creating healthier communities across rural India.”

At the core of this program are the SuPoshan Sanginis – village volunteers from local communities who are the driving force behind delivering essential health & nutritional awareness and empowering people to adopt healthier lifestyles.

The program has spread its wings to over 36 locations across India since its inception across 14 states, covering 1940 villages and slums and touching the lives of over 2 million population. It has been instrumental in saving the lives of 90,000 children from malnutrition, improving the health of over 300,000 women of reproductive age, and reaching out to 120,000 adolescent girls through tailored interventions.
