Sanctoria, 29 September 2026: Under the leadership of Area General Manager, Kunustoria Area, Shri Amit Kumar Sinha, a series of awareness and creative activities were organised today among school students as part of the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ campaign under Special Campaign 6.0 at Eastern Coalfields Limited (ECL).
The programme was organised with the objective of fostering awareness among children about the importance of cleanliness, waste management and environmental conservation. Students of Belbad Free Primary School participated enthusiastically in various activities focused on responsible waste management, recycling and environmental protection.
As part of the programme, the students participated in activities related to ‘Waste to Art’ and plastic recycling, showcasing their creativity by transforming discarded and waste materials into innovative artworks. The activity highlighted the importance of reusing waste materials and encouraged the children to adopt creative and sustainable approaches towards waste management.
On the occasion, Regional Environment Officer Shri Vibhanshu Kumar sensitised the students about the practical aspects of environmental conservation and protection. He also distributed saplings among the children and encouraged them to contribute towards a greener environment by planting and nurturing trees.
Regional Community Development Officer Shri Jyoti Prasad Bori also addressed the students and highlighted the significance of cleanliness. He elaborated on the role that every individual can play in keeping their homes, schools and surroundings clean, while encouraging the children to make cleanliness a part of their everyday lives.
The students participated in the programme with great enthusiasm and took a pledge towards maintaining a clean environment, responsible waste management and environmental conservation.
The initiative, organised in line with the objectives of Special Campaign 6.0, served as a meaningful effort towards nurturing a culture of cleanliness, sustainability and environmental responsibility among young minds and inspiring them to become responsible citizens.
