NEW DELHI. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has granted former bureaucrat Tarun Kapoor a one-year extension as advisor to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. A retired Indian Administrative Service officer, Kapoor was initially appointed to the key advisory role in June 2024. This latest extension ensures his continued service in the Prime Minister’s Office for an additional year, with his new tenure officially taking effect from June 10, 2026.
