NEW DELHI. GAIL Gas Limited has signed a new Gas Sales Agreement with the Steel Authority of India’s Rourkela Steel Plant to supply industrial Piped Natural Gas (PNG) for its iron fabrication work. The historic deal was signed by senior officials from both companies, including Mohd Zafar Khan from GAIL Gas and U.K. Bhujabal from the Rourkela plant, in the presence of Materials Management chief Anil Kumar. Under this new partnership, GAIL Gas will deliver 8,000 standard cubic meters of natural gas daily to the steel plant. This project is a major step toward building a gas-based economy in India, helping the Rourkela industrial area reduce air emissions, improve factory efficiency, and switch to much cleaner energy alternatives.
