SAMBALPUR. Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) has launched a significant digital transformation initiative by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Sambalpur. This strategic partnership aims to train 500 officers from various functional disciplines through a specialized and customized program focused on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML). The formalization of this collaboration marks a proactive step by the coal major to integrate cutting-edge technology into its core operational and administrative frameworks.
The MoU was officially signed by Shri Keshav Rao, Director (Personnel), MCL, and Prof. Mahadeo Jaiswal, Director, IIM Sambalpur, in the presence of Shri Uday Anant Kaole, Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) of MCL. The program is designed to bridge the gap between traditional mining operations and modern data-driven decision-making, ensuring that the company’s workforce is equipped to handle the evolving demands of the energy sector.
During the event, Shri Kaole highlighted the transformative potential of AI and ML in enhancing the professional efficiency of MCL executives.
