NEW DELHI. Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the launch of “Villages of Excellence” to strengthen agricultural cooperation between India and Israel. Speaking with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, he said farm cooperation has been a strong part of their partnership. India will increase the number of Centres of Excellence, set up with Israeli support, to 100. These centres help farmers with advanced nursery methods, better farming practices, and modern irrigation systems.
The new Villages of Excellence will expand Israeli technology to villages across India, aiming to raise farmers’ income and productivity. An India-Israel Innovation Centre for Agriculture will also be set up. PM Modi highlighted growing ties in manpower, education, and innovation, including a new Academic Forum to connect youth and researchers. D D News
