Shri Harish Duhan, Chairman and Managing Director of South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL), visited the Gevra Area, Asia’s largest coal mine, to review production, productivity and ongoing infrastructure development. During the visit, he inspected the 42 CuM departmental patch and several contractual mining patches, including KCC, Sainik Mining and PNC, and carried out an on-ground assessment at the coal face. He also reviewed the progress of land acquisition and the development status of Rehabilitation and Resettlement (R&R) sites.
A detailed review meeting was held with officials from HEC, RITES, the SECL Siding team and Area Heads of Departments, focusing on key infrastructure projects such as FMC connectivity, CHP–SILO integration and other critical works. Shri Duhan also visited the newly commissioned substation at Gevra Area and appreciated the efforts made to strengthen power infrastructure supporting mining operations. Reiterating SECL’s commitment to national energy security, he emphasized the action plan aimed at achieving the FY 2025–26 production and dispatch targets from this flagship mine within the stipulated timeframe.
