NTPC Bongaigaon has dedicated a newly developed Kitchen and Multi-Purpose Hall to the inmates of Kokrajhar District Jail, strengthening rehabilitation facilities under its CSR initiative. The facility was inaugurated by Smt. Masanda M. Pertin, IAS, District Commissioner, Kokrajhar, in the presence of Shri Arnab Maitra, Head of Project, NTPC Bongaigaon, along with officials from the district administration and NTPC. Developed in alignment with the Assam Government’s ‘Karagar se Karigar’ programme, the new infrastructure aims to support vocational training, skill development, and reformation activities that help inmates reintegrate into society.
During the event, the District Commissioner appreciated NTPC’s continued efforts to enhance the welfare and rehabilitation environment for inmates, while Shri Maitra reaffirmed NTPC’s commitment to meaningful social impact through CSR. Constructed at a cost of ₹32.82 lakh, the facility is designed to improve nutrition services, provide structured recreational and vocational spaces, and foster a humane, dignity-centred living environment. This initiative further strengthens NTPC Bongaigaon’s ongoing support toward institutional development and social upliftment in the region.
