NLC India Ltd. is launching a groundbreaking 2400 MW Ultra Super Critical Pit Head Thermal Power Project at Talabira, Odisha, costing Rs 27,212 Crore.
Phase-1’s foundation stone will be laid by PM Shri Narendra Modi on February 03, 2024, with an additional 800 MW planned for Phase-2 at Rs 8000 Crore. This Greenfield Pithead station ensures energy security, utilizing adjacent mines for coal supply via an eco-friendly conveyor system. With cost benefits, it promises one of the country’s cheapest tariffs, delivering 1787 Crore units to Odisha and beyond. Environmentally conscious, it features FGD, SCR, biomass co-firing, and waste management. The project will generate extensive employment, contributing to socio-economic development—a stellar representation of Atmanirbhar Bharat and the PM’s vision for mission-mode pithead thermal power stations.
