Shri R. K. Singh, Union Minister for Power, New and Renewable Energy, laid the foundation stone for extension of POWERGRID’s 400/132 kV Lakhisarai Sub-station on 18 th August 2023. This sub-station has been built by Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID). As part of the project, 220 kV GIS will be constructed in existing sub-station premises along with installation of 2 transformers of 500 MVA capacity.
MLA, Lakhisarai, Shri Vijay Kumar Sinha; Hon’ble Member of Legislative Council,Shri Ajay Kumar Singh; Chairman and Managing Director of POWERGRID Shri K.Sreekant; Director (Projects), Mr. Abhay Choudhary and senior officers of POWERGRID and state government were also present on the occasion.
Apart from its core business of power transmission, POWERGRID is also transforming lives through its CSR initiatives. Various development works under CSR by POWERGRID in Bihar such as construction of Vishram Sadan in DMCH, Darbhanga and IGIMS, Patna, construction of school buildings and arrangement of benches-desks etc., construction of toilets, rural roads, Chhath Ghats installation of solar lights and high mast lights etc. have been done.
