Earlier, a film showcasing the implementation of the ambitious project and the advanced process technology employed was screened. The DIC and the other dignitaries lighted the ceremonial lamp to mark the inauguration. Later, all the senior officers planted saplings in the campus to mark the occasion and reaffirm their commitment to a greener and sustainable future.

Notably, the cutting-edge facility, developed at a cost of about Rs. 96 crores, is capable of treating 30 MLD of sewage water. Implemented as per the advice of the State Pollution Control Board (SPCB), the project aims to address environmental concerns and significantly improve the quality of life in the Steel Township.

RSP had entered into a comprehensive contract in June 2023 with a consortium comprising M/s B G Patel and M/s Oasis EPC Solution Limited for the installation, commissioning, and a five-year operation and maintenance of the plant. The STP will handle the entire sewage generated in the Steel Township along with the wastewater from Balughat Nallah.

The facility is based on the latest Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor (MBBR) technology and is equipped with Manual & Mechanical screens, grit chambers, oil skimmers, equalization tanks with aeration, anoxic tanks, dual-stage MBBR tanks with bio-media, secondary clarifiers, sludge thickeners, centrifuge mechanism, clarifiers, chlorine contact tanks, and clarified water storage tanks.

Executed under the leadership of Mr. S.
