29 passengers killed

At least 29 passengers were killed when an Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) bus hit the divider and fell through a gap between two flyovers on the Yamuna Expressway on July 8 morning.

There were more than 50 passengers on the bus which plunged 40 feet down before hitting the ground

Babloo Kumar, Senior Superintendent of Police (Agra), confirmed that a UPSRTC Janrath bus coming to Delhi from Lucknow was involved in an accident around 5 a.m. after hitting the railing on the Yamuna Expressway near milestone 161 under Etmadpur police station.

Police teams and disaster relief teams reached the site immediately. Till now 29 people have been declared dead by doctors. All senior officers of the district are at the hospital, said Mr. Babloo.
