New Delhi: Former Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, Shri Vinod Zutshi, IAS, expressed strong optimism about the future of Indian tourism, citing the country’s tremendous potential and favorable growth conditions. Speaking at the FAITH mega conclave in Delhi, he highlighted India’s fast-growing economy, robust digital infrastructure, strong domestic tourism base, rising youth and middle-class travelers, liberal e-visa policies, and improving connectivity as key drivers that make India a preferred global destination in the current geopolitical scenario.
Shri Zutshi emphasized the need for holistic and integrated development of tourism with special focus on tier-2 and tier-3 cities, skilling, destination management, digital transformation, sustainable practices, and public-private partnerships. He also called for tourism-friendly foreign policies, ease of doing business, tax rationalization, and granting tourism industry status to accelerate growth. Congratulating FAITH on the success of the conclave, he said that with the right initiatives and missions in place, India’s tourism can become world-class, digitally smart, culturally authentic, and globally connected.
