Vigilance Awareness Week-2025 observations conclude at SAIL RSP

The concluding ceremony of the Vigilance Awareness Week – 2025 was held at the Gopabandhu Auditorium of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) on 3rd November, 2025. Mr. Tarun Misra, ED (HR) was the chief guest of the event. Mr. Biswaranjan Palai, ED (Works), Mr. Anil Kumar, ED (MM), Mr. M P Singh, ED (Mines, OGoM-CMLO), Mr. B K Giri, ED (Mines Development), Mr. Sudip Pal Chowdhury, ED (Projects), and Mr. Ranjan Bharti, GM (Vigilance) & ACVO were also present on the dais. Mr. Rajesh Dasgupta, CGM (F&A), Dr. J K Acharya, CMO In-Charge (M&HS), many other CGMs, HODs, senior officials of RSP, school students and teachers were also present in the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Misra said, “We should be vigilant enough in our conduct so that a separate vigilance department is not required to correct us.” He added that schools are the foundation of integrity and encouraged students never to hesitate in asking questions.

“Students are the young minds who will shape our future,” stressed Mr. Palai. He emphasized that integrity, transparency, and openness must be practiced by all, adding that vigilance is not the responsibility of one department but of everyone. He also focussed on the importance of Preventive Vigilance.

Mr. Anil Kumar, observed that vigilance is not confined to a week but is a continuous process that must be followed throughout the year. He appreciated the Vigilance Department for its consistent efforts in spreading awareness across the organization.

Mr. M. P. Singh emphasized that honesty and integrity form the foundation of a strong nation  and urged everyone to contribute towards making India a Viksit Bharat by 2047.

Mr. B. K. Giri highlighted the need to safeguard public assets, stating that such collective responsibility will help build a stronger and more prosperous nation.

Mr. S. Pal Chowdhury, stated that vigilance is a model that guides every organization and a way of life that begins with self. He added that each one of us is a custodian of integrity and noted that the Digital Project Management System in RSP is a significant step towards strengthening vigilance and transparency.

The dignitaries presented the prizes to the award winners of various competitions held during the Vigilance Awareness Week 2025.

At the outset, Mr. Bharti welcomed the gathering and elaborated on the various inbound and outreach programmes being organised by the vigilance department during the Vigilance Awareness Week. A short video on the various activities carried out during the week, 2nd series of the podcast ‘The Vigilant Mind’, the theme song video and a glimpse of the video film of the Nukkad Natak organised in peripheral schools were also screened during the event. Ms. Megha, a Class X student of DPS, Rourkela, and Ms. Trupti, a Class XII student of DAV Public School, Bolani delivered powerful speeches on the importance of a culture of integrity.

Mr. Abani Biswal, AGM (Vigilance) proposed a formal Vote of Thanks and Ms. Kavita Bisoyi, Senior Manager (CCW) co-ordinated the function.
