Union Minister of Power and Housing & Urban Affairs, Shri Manohar Lal Khattar, inaugurated the Central Power Research Institute (CPRI) Regional Testing Laboratory (RTL) at Nashik, dedicating it to the nation. The ceremony was attended by Shri Devendra Fadnavis, Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Shri Chagan Bhujbal, Minister of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Protection, and Shri Girish Mahajan, Minister of Water Resources & Crisis Management, along with MPs, MLAs, officials, and industry leaders.
Strategically located to serve western India, the Nashik RTL will provide advanced testing services for transformers, energy meters, smart meters, and transformer oil, reducing turnaround times and ensuring faster procurement cycles. In his address, Shri Khattar highlighted the importance of robust testing infrastructure for India’s power sector growth and self-reliance. The new facility is expected to strengthen quality assurance, foster industrial growth, and support research and development in power equipment testing.
