Cabinet has also approved a policy for the Medical Devices Sector, which includes six strategies to harness the sector’s potential. An Implementation Action Plan has also been developed. This policy is anticipated to assist the Medical Devices Sector in expanding from $11 billion to $50 billion within the next five years.
The Union Cabinet has approved the establishment of 157 new government nursing colleges. Financial assistance amounting to Rs 10 crores will be provided for each nursing college, which will be located in conjunction with existing medical colleges.
