THDCIL HRD Centre Recognized as ‘Centre of Excellence’ by SHRM India

Rishikesh, 11 July 2025: THDC India Limited (THDCIL), a leading PSU in the power sector, has achieved a prestigious milestone with its Human Resource Development Centre in Rishikesh being awarded the ‘Centre of Excellence’ certification by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) India. This recognition places THDCIL’s HRD Centre alongside elite training institutions in the public sector such as IOCL and HPCL, marking its emergence as a national benchmark in employee learning and development.

Congratulating the HR team, Shri R. K. Vishnoi, Chairman and Managing Director, THDCIL, said, “This recognition is a testament to our commitment to nurturing talent and promoting a high-performance culture. Our HRD Centre continues to be a hub of knowledge and transformation, aligned with our vision of building future-ready professionals.” He added, “Being certified under the SHRM-PSE Benchmarking initiative is a proud moment for THDCIL. The rigorous evaluation process based on international benchmarks validates our approach of combining world-class learning systems with employee-centric practices.”

Shri Vishnoi further emphasized that the certification process involved comprehensive policy reviews, training feedback analysis, SOP and safety protocol audits, infrastructure inspections, and detailed interactions with leadership and faculty. “This milestone reaffirms our dedication to capacity building and excellence at all levels of the organization as we contribute toward the national goal of a ‘Viksit Bharat’ by 2047,” he stated.

Shri Shallinder Singh, Director (Personnel), THDCIL, also expressed his pride in the achievement, calling it a significant step in THDCIL’s human capital journey. “Our HRD Centre has been conferred with this honor against stringent international benchmarks, reaffirming our commitment to global standards in learning, digital capability, and strategic alignment,” he said. “Our Centre is not just a training facility—it is a strategic enabler of transformation, providing cutting-edge knowledge and skills to equip our workforce for a dynamic business environment.” He further added that the Centre’s recognition positions THDCIL as a forward-looking, learning-driven organization committed to innovation and empowerment at its core.
