NLCIL Partners with NPTI to Launch Skill Development Programme for Youth

SINGRAOULI. NLC India Limited (NLCIL), signed an MoU with the National Power Training Institute (NPTI), an apex training body under the Ministry of Power, on February 25, 2026, at Neyveli as part of its CSR initiative.

The agreement was signed by A.K.R. Saravanabhavan, Unit Head (Learning & Development), NLCIL, and S. Amirthavalli, Director, NPTI, in the presence of senior officials from both organisations.

The collaboration will offer a one-year, job-oriented Post-Diploma course in Power Plant Engineering for Project Affected Persons and unemployed youth of Cuddalore district, enhancing employability and supporting the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.

Union Secretary of Housing and Urban Affairs Srinivas Katikithala inaugurated the CII-NBCC Multi-Skill Training Institute and Model Career Centre at Ghitorni in New Delhi, marking a significant step towards aligning vocational training with the needs of a modern workforce. The initiative is a strategic collaboration between NBCC (India) Limited and Confederation of Indian Industry, aimed at creating direct pathways to employment rather than limiting outcomes to certification. Senior officials, including Ravi Kumar Arora, Joint Secretary, MoHUA, NBCC Chairman and Managing Director K P Mahadevaswamy, and Director Commercial Dr. Suman Kumar, attended the launch. The institute will offer industry-aligned bridge courses tailored to high-growth sectors, combining NBCC’s infrastructure strength with CII’s industry expertise to build a job-ready talent pool for the Delhi-NCR region and enhance youth employability in line with evolving global economic demands.

SECL Trains Over 2,000 Youth Under CSR Skill Development Initiative

Bilaspur: Southeastern Coalfields Limited (SECL), has provided skill training to more than 2,000 youth across its operational areas in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme. The training was conducted in collaboration with the Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering and Technology (CIPET) to enhance employability and technical skills among youth from coal mining regions.

The initiative equips beneficiaries with industry-relevant skills for employment in manufacturing, plastics, and allied sectors, supporting sustainable livelihoods and socio-economic development. Aligned with the Skill India Mission and the vision of an Atmanirbhar Bharat, SECL’s effort reflects its commitment to inclusive growth and long-term community development in mining-affected areas.
