Western Coalfields Limited has achieved a major milestone by securing the highest number of 5-Star Rated mines among all coal companies in the Ministry of Coal’s Star Rating Assessment for the financial year 2024-25.A total of seven WCL mines have received the prestigious 5-Star Rating, highlighting the company’s strong commitment towards safe, scientific, environmentally responsible and sustainable mining operations. WCL Mines Also Secure 4-Star and 3-Star Ratings.

नागपुर। WCL ने आज अपने इतिहास में पहली बार स्वतंत्र कॉर्पोरेट लोगो एवं नई कॉर्पोरेट पहचान का भव्य अनावरण किया। यह अवसर कंपनी की प्रगतिशील यात्रा में एक ऐतिहासिक एवं गौरवपूर्ण उपलब्धि के रूप में दर्ज हुआ। लोगो लॉन्च समारोह में अध्यक्ष-सह-प्रबंध निदेशक डॉ. हेमंत शरद पांडे, निदेशक (वित्त एवं मानव संसाधन) श्री बिक्रम घोष, निदेशक (तकनीकी/संचालन) श्री आनंदजी प्रसाद, निदेशक (तकनीकी/परियोजना एवं योजना) श्री संदीप परांजपे सहित सभी क्षेत्रों एवं इकाइयों के वरिष्ठ अधिकारी वीडियो कॉन्फ्रेंसिंग के माध्यम से जुड़े।

इस अवसर पर डॉ. हेमंत शरद पांडे ने कहा कि वर्ष 1975 से WCL देश की ऊर्जा सुरक्षा को सुदृढ़ बनाने में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाता रहा है। बदलते समय के साथ कंपनी नवाचार, आधुनिकीकरण एवं सतत विकास के सिद्धांतों को अपनाते हुए भविष्य की चुनौतियों और अवसरों के लिए स्वयं को तैयार कर रही है। उन्होंने बताया कि WCL की मल्टीमीडिया कम्युनिकेशन टीम द्वारा विकसित यह नया लोगो कंपनी की गौरवशाली विरासत, संगठनात्मक शक्ति एवं दूरदर्शी सोच का प्रतीक है।

WCL Partners with Alpex NVNR Consortium for 70 MW Solar Power Project at Nandan Washery

NAGPUR. Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) has taken a significant step toward expanding its renewable energy footprint by signing an agreement with the Alpex NVNR Consortium for the development of a 70 MW (AC) grid-connected, ground-mounted solar power plant at Nandan Washery in the Kanhan Area.

The agreement covers the complete scope of work, including design, engineering, procurement, construction, installation, testing, and commissioning of the solar project, which will feature a minimum 40 percent DC overloading capacity. The project is scheduled for commissioning in the early months of 2027 and includes 10 years of operation and maintenance support. The plant is projected to achieve a first-year Net Electrical Energy Generation (NEEG) of 139.34 million units.

A notable highlight of the initiative is that the renewable energy generated in Madhya Pradesh will be utilised to meet WCL’s captive power requirements in Maharashtra, strengthening the company’s efforts toward sustainable and cost-effective energy management.

The agreement was formalised in the presence of CMD Shri J. P. Dwivedi, Shri Bikram Ghosh, and Shri Anandji Prasad. The signing was executed by Smt. Shweta Soni Sharma on behalf of WCL and Shri Gaurav Bector representing the Alpex NVNR Consortium.

With this project, WCL reinforces its commitment to clean energy adoption and its contribution to India’s broader renewable energy goals.
