Bengaluru, May 05, 2025: Godrej Fund Management executed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Maharashtra at the WAVES Summit 2025, Mumbai. This strategic partnership aims to accelerate the growth of art, media, and television across Maharashtra by developing a state-of-the-art film and media campus built to global standards of technology, safety, and sustainability.

Under this MoU, the Government of Maharashtra will facilitate Godrej Fund Management and Investment Advisers Private Limited to obtain necessary permissions, registrations, approvals, and fiscal incentives from related state departments, as per the existing policies, rules, and regulations of the Government of Maharashtra for the development of the campus.

Located at Godrej City, Panvel, an integrated Golf Township, the campus will house AA studios, which will serve as a hub for artists, musicians, and filmmakers, providing state-of-the-art amenities and world-class production facilities. Leading international experts are engaged to design a cutting-edge, future-ready facility equipped with the latest technologies, including AI. As the world’s largest content producer with a skilled workforce, India stands to gain significantly as the studio aims to harness this talent and drive storytelling excellence. The facility is expected to generate a significant economic impact by creating employment across content production, hospitality, and technical services, while also boosting tourism and foreign exchange, which will further support leveraging the Government of India’s progressive new incentive policy for foreign film productions.

It will further catalyze growth in ancillary industries, positioning Panvel as a vibrant hub for creative entrepreneurship and innovation. This development also aligns seamlessly with Mumbai 3.0’s vision of progressive urbanization and sustainable development and aims to accelerate economic growth across the state.

Bengaluru, 02.05.2025: Creativeland Asia & Government of Andhra Pradesh signed an MOU to conceptualize and operationalize India’s first Transmedia Entertainment City, Creatorland in Andhra Pradesh, which will have immersive theme parks, gaming zones, global cinema co-production zones and will also help drive job creation, skill development, tourism and digital innovation.

This partnership was announced at the WAVES Summit being held in Mumbai from 1^st to 4^th May which was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narender Modi. The MOU was signed in the presence of Shri Kandula Durgesh, Hon’ble Minister Tourism and Entertainment, Government of Andhra Pradesh, by Ms Amrapali Kata, CEO Tourism and Shri Sajan Raj Kurup Founder of Creativeland Studios Entertainment and Chairman of Creators Inc London along with global advisory board with Mr David Unger, CEO Artists International, Andy Orrik, Founder Studio Belong, Jani Guest, CEO Creators Inc and Nicolas Granatino Chairman Tara Gaming. Visiting dignitaries at  the Waves Roundtable and a few of the representatives from the global advisory from Hollywood were also present at the announcement.

Creativeland Asia is in conversation with  20+ studios across the world to make India their production  hub. It is expected that Creatorland will attract investments between Rs 8000 – 10,000 cr over 5-6 years that will go towards the creation of a Virtual Studio Complex powered by AI-based real-time rendering and volumetric capture technologies, immersive theme parks, gaming zones, esports arenas, and global cinema co-production zones, Creatorland Academy for skilling youth in VFX, AI, gaming, and immersive storytelling.

This announcement marks a significant step toward cross border collaboration in media and entertainment for innovation, research, and Indian and global IP creation in AI-driven content, R&D, VFX workflows through Creatorland’s Generative AI Lab, and will encourage participation from global and Indian talent to build India as a global production hub.

This hub will open up skilling and employment opportunities for youth from Andhra Pradesh and rest of the country across creative and tech domains – skilling 10,000+ youth every year in AI, VFX, gaming and 150,000+ new jobs across entertainment, tech, tourism is envisaged with the opening of opportunities under this initiative.

As part of the Waves Summit, being held February 5 – 9, 2025, the Ministry is also launching the Create in India Challenge, Season 1, which will feature several ‘challenges’ aimed at fostering innovation and creativity. Out of these, the Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI) is collaborating is organizing four key challenges: Waves Reel Making Challenge in partnership with Meta, Waves Explorer Challenge in association with YouTube, Waves Chronicles: AI Comic Art Challenge in association with Google Play and Waves AI Art Installation Challenge. These challenges aim to bring together creators, technologists, and innovators to explore the intersection of art, technology, and storytelling, further positioning India as a leader in the global creative economy.

The 19th IDS is being organized by the Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI) in collaboration with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, supported by Digital India, Skill India and Make in India.

Highlighting India’s ascent as a powerhouse in the creative and technological dimensions of the global media landscape, Shri Rajan said, “Waves 2025 is designed to be a transformative, industry-led platform that brings together global and Indian stakeholders across the media and entertainment sectors. Through collaboration, showcasing innovation, and championing Indian creativity, we aim to position India as a global leader in media technology and content creation.”

Titled “Waves Unveiled: Showcasing India’s Creative Power in the Global Media Economy,” the session also shed light on the Waves Bazaar, a one-stop marketplace for the media and entertainment sector which expands on the concept of NFBC’s Film Bazaar by creating a platform for cross-sector collaboration, B2B meetings, and showcasing innovations. Besides Shri Rajan it was also addressed by Mr. Achal Malhotra, CEO, Waves; Ms. Natasha Jog, Director, Public Policy India, Meta; Ms. Aneesha Dhar, Head, Google Play, Ecosystem and Scaled Partnerships India, and Ms. Kavitha K K, Government Affairs and Public Policy Manager India, Google.

Shri Rajan talked about the creative challenges emphasising India’s commitment to fostering young talent. Waves emphasis on supporting startups in the media and entertainment space reflects the importance of nurturing entrepreneurial innovation.
