During the meeting, the CMD said continuous support from both governments had helped the plant overcome earlier losses. Hot metal production has increased to 19,401 tonnes per day from 9,215 tonnes per day in the second quarter of 2024–25, with all three blast furnaces now fully operational. Capacity utilisation has reached a record 94 per cent, up from around 45 per cent last year. Officials said state support in taxes, electricity dues, and water supply, along with Rs 11,440 crore assistance from the Centre, played a crucial role in stabilising operations and improving performance, leading to an improved credit rating. The Chief Minister attributed the turnaround to collective efforts of workers and officials and directed departments to introduce new policies to further strengthen the steel plant.

Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest Sri AK Bagchi, Director (Projects) and additional charge Director (Operations), RINL advised employees and families to focus on energy conservation in day to day life and operate all facilities at rated capacity to reduce energy consumption and cost. He congratulated RINL for winning the National Energy Leader award for 6 times and Excellent Energy Efficient Unit Award for 8 times and it is a rare achievement for any PSU and Integrated Steel Plant to achieve this feat.  He lauded Energy Management department collective for conducting an extensive energy conservation awareness campaign amongst all departments and schools through various programs from 1st to 14th December, 2024.

About 3500 persons participated in various programmes in the energy conservation awareness campaign. Representatives of Steel Executive Association, trade Unions, SC&ST Association, OBC association, WIPS, and a large number of employees enthusiastically participated in the energy Conservation day celebrations at RINL.
