Bengaluru, 15 December 2025: Vedanta Limited, India’s leading energy-transition metals, oil & gas, critical minerals, power and technology conglomerate, reaffirmed its commitment to accelerating India’s clean-energy transition on the National Energy Conservation Day.

The Group’s decarbonisation strategy uses four levers: renewable energy expansion, switching to low-carbon fuels, energy and process efficiency, and carbon offsets. Leveraging a multi-pronged approach, till November FY26, Vedanta sourced 2.58 billion units of renewable energy, mitigating nearly 2 million (or 20 lakh) tonnes of CO₂e emissions, equivalent to removing 4.1 lakh cars from India’s roads for a full year.

Since FY21, Vedanta has mitigated over 28 million (or 2.8 crore) tons of CO₂ emissions, equivalent to annual carbon absorption of over 1 billion mature trees. In FY25, Vedanta further strengthened its commitment to large-scale decarbonisation and energy efficiency, investing approximately USD 170 million (approximately INR 1500 Crores) towards its Net Zero efforts.

Concurrently in FY26, Vedanta has actively undertaken over 30 energy-saving and decarbonisation projects, improving waste-heat recovery of steam, periodic overhauling, and optimising energy consumption through state-of-the-art pot controllers. These controllers will significantly streamline energy use precisely to boost industrial performance, stability and energy efficiency. The projects are expected to save over 150,000 tonnes of CO₂ per year, equivalent to carbon absorption from 7 million (or 70 lakh) trees.

Reaffirming the Government of India’s ‘Waste to Wealth’ mission and circularity focus, Vedanta uses high-quality biofuel made from biomass and agricultural residue with far greater energy density than original feedstock. In 2025, Vedanta has used 182 Kt of biomass across its operations mitigating over 300,000 tons of CO₂, equivalent to annual absorption of 15 million (or 1.5 crore) mature trees.

From solar to wind energy, Vedanta is powering India’s clean energy mission by producing transition metals and critical minerals that clean energy depends on. Since 2021, Vedanta has advanced low-carbon production, reducing carbon intensity (tCO₂e/INR Million in Revenue) by nearly 30%.

As Vedanta celebrates its ‘Energy Conservation Week’ across its operations, it has saved over 33,000 Mega-watt hours (MwH) of energy across its Zinc and Ferrochrome operations. Vedanta Aluminium is also expanding its capacity from 2.4 to 3.1 million tonnes per annum (MTPA), with its Restora low carbon ‘green’ aluminium widely used in solar, EVs, packaging and modern infrastructure. Hindustan Zinc is advancing its 2x Growth Plan across zinc, lead and silver, with its low carbon ‘green’ zinc, EcoZen offering a 75% less carbon intensive solution for applications in infrastructure.

Commemorating the ‘National Energy Conservation Week’, Hindustan Zinc and Vedanta Power promoted greener commute options, including carpooling and a ‘No Vehicle Day.’ Meanwhile, in Jharsuguda, Odisha, Vedanta Aluminium organized a cycle rally and school competitions to generate innovative ideas for energy savings. ESL Steel Limited and FACOR are continuing this momentum by holding energy-saving awareness sessions for employees throughout the week.

Vedanta continues to build its strategic multi-metals and energy capability for a self-reliant India. As the world’s largest integrated producer of zinc, the fourth-largest global producer of silver, and one of the top producers of aluminium globally, Vedanta plays a pivotal role in the global supply of essential materials for the energy transition.

A global ESG champion, Vedanta is committed to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050 or sooner. Through its transformative social impact initiatives, the company has improved the lives of millions of people in underserved regions.

Bengaluru, 12 December 2025: Vedanta Chairman Anil Agarwal has welcomed the Government of India’s reforms to the oil and gas regulatory framework, calling the move a “truly historic development” that could unlock India’s long-identified but underutilised hydrocarbon reserves.

Agarwal congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, stating that the newly notified rules represent a decisive policy shift aimed at accelerating domestic exploration and production. “The world has always known the scale of India’s untapped reserves. These reforms finally create the environment needed to unlock them,” he said.

Highlighting India’s position as one of the producers of globally affordable oil and gas, Agarwal said the liberalised regime will directly benefit consumers—“especially the poorest”—by reducing import dependency and improving supply security.

He underscored the reform’s potential to democratise India’s energy ecosystem, noting that the sector has now been opened to entrepreneurs, start-ups, young innovators, and even university students, who can take up exploration with minimal investment. He termed the shift a transformational step that could widen India’s exploration base significantly.

Drawing parallels with the United States’ energy revolution, Agarwal said that an inclusive regulatory environment had enabled nearly 20,000 companies and individuals to participate in exploration there, turning the US from a major importer into an energy-surplus economy. “India is now poised to follow a similar path,” he added.

Agarwal called the amendment a once-in-a-generation reform. “Our energy security is both our greatest challenge and an extraordinary opportunity. With these changes, I am confident India can produce at least 50% of its total energy domestically in the coming years.”

Industry analysts expect the Government’s overhaul to spur fresh investment, widen participation in the upstream sector, and reinforce India’s long-term energy resilience, especially as the country seeks to secure stable and affordable energy supplies amid global volatility.

Bengaluru, 08 December 2025: Vedanta Ltd, world’s leading critical minerals, energy transition metals, oil & gas, power and technology conglomerate, marked a successful association with Jashn-e-Rekhta 2025, one of the world’s largest and most prestigious platforms celebrating Urdu language, art and culture. Held from 5th– 7th December, the festival featured legendary writer-poet Gulzar, Javed Akhtar, renowned singer Sukhwinder Singh, over 300 artists, and 35 enriching sessions, bringing together some of the most influential voices from India’s cultural landscape.

The festival provided Vedanta with a powerful platform to present “Dastaan-e-Metals – From the Art of the Past to the Metals of the Future,” an immersive experience tracing the company’s journey from India’s ancient metallurgical heritage to its future-ready industrial innovations.

The centrepiece of the showcase was a cutting-edge VR experience that transported visitors deep into Vedanta’s Rampura Agucha Mine in Rajasthan’s Bhilwara district, the world’s largest and a global benchmark in sustainable mining. Through this immersive tour, guests witnessed how modern technology, scientific extraction methods, and responsible practices come together to produce critical minerals. The journey seamlessly traced the complete lifecycle of metals: from ore discovery beneath the Earth’s surface to Vedanta’s advanced smelters, where they are transformed into high-quality zinc, lead and other vital resources.

The virtual walkthrough then opened into a curated gallery demonstrating the indispensable role of these refined metals in everyday life—aluminium from Vedanta’s world-class Jharsuguda smelter powering mobility and aerospace, copper enabling India’s electronics and digital infrastructure, zinc strengthening national infrastructure through galvanisation, and silver driving the future of clean and renewable energy.

Adding a powerful historical dimension was a rare 2,500-year-old zinc retort from the world’s most ancient Zawar mines of Vedanta in Rajasthan. This remarkable artefact not only reflects India’s pioneering mastery of metallurgy but also embodies the legacy of innovation that Vedanta continues to advance through its fully integrated mining-to-metals value chain.

Vedanta also supported the Rekhta Mushaira on 6th December, which brought together celebrated Urdu literary voices including Wasim Barelvi, Javed Akhtar, Hilal Fareed, Shariq Kaifi and others. The session added to the cultural richness of the festival and further strengthened Vedanta’s support for India’s literary traditions.

Extending beyond industry, Vedanta showcased a social impact display featuring live art demonstrations by artisans along with traditional craft forms such as Odisha’s Dhokra sculptures, Saura paintings, Rajasthan’s Ajrak textiles, and Bilona ghee produced by rural women’s collectives. This segment reflected Vedanta’s commitment to cultural preservation, sustainable livelihoods and community empowerment.

Lt.Col. Dinesh Garg (Retd.) visited Vedanta’s stall and said “This is the Dilli Haat of metals and mining — a uniquely curated space where you can explore everything from ancient metallurgical heritage to the most advanced technologies shaping India’s future”

Another visitor added, “I’ve never seen metals storytelling and technology blended so seamlessly. The VR-led Dastaan-e-Metals experience was truly amazing, and the community initiatives showcase with live artisan demonstrations added a powerful dimension, reflecting real craftsmanship, real impact and the deeper purpose that defines Vedanta’s vision.”

Reflecting on the association, Vedanta’s spokesperson noted that Jashn-e-Rekhta offered an important opportunity to celebrate the confluence of heritage and innovation. The Dastaan-e-Metals experience, they shared, reflects Vedanta’s belief that India’s future is rooted in its cultural legacy, where the artistry of the past and the science of the future come together to shape national progress.

Apart from Jashn-e-Rekhta, Vedanta supports several distinguished cultural and literary platforms, including the Vedanta Jaigarh Heritage Festival, the Jaipur Literature Festival, and the Vedanta Udaipur Music Festival. Through these initiatives, Vedanta brings heritage, community and innovation together on a single stage, strengthening its vision of an India that stands as a global cultural capital, an economic powerhouse and a symbol of resilience and opportunity.

Bengaluru, 02 December 2025 – Mining and natural resources major Vedanta’s much-anticipated demerger, which will create five sector-specific entities, has entered its final phase. The Mumbai bench of the National Company Law Tribunal reserved its judgment in November, with a likely pronouncement in December 2025.

Proposed in September 2023, the demerger has been delayed by court-related procedures, taking over two years and now entering its final phase.

Vedanta Limited is one of India’s largest mining and natural resources companies. The demerger is likely to result in significant value creation for shareholders, as metal prices have rallied this year, driving a year-to-date surge of nearly 20% in the Vedanta stock.

As of September 2025, Vedanta has nearly 2021184 retail shareholders (resident individuals), who collectively hold almost 44.63 crore shares in the company. Vedanta also has investments by almost 25,000 Non-Residential Indians, who collectively hold 1.79 crore shares in the company.

Vedanta is a leading Indian natural resources company with a significant global footprint. It has proposed demerging its business units into independent “pure play” companies to unlock value and attract big-ticket investment for expansion and growth.

The company has an asset portfolio comprising zinc, silver, lead, aluminium, chromium, copper, nickel, oil and gas, a traditional ferrous vertical including iron ore and steel, and power, including coal and renewable energy.

After the demerger, each independent entity will have greater freedom to grow to its full potential and realize its true value through independent management, capital allocation, and niche growth strategies. It will also give global and Indian investors the possibility to invest in their preferred vertical, broadening the investor base for Vedanta assets.

The de-merger is planned to be a simple vertical split; for every one share of Vedanta Limited, the shareholders will additionally receive one share of each of the demerged companies.

The demerger will benefit Vedanta’s shareholders as it will simplify Vedanta’s corporate structure with sector-focused independent businesses. It will also provide global investors, including sovereign wealth funds, retail investors, and strategic investors, with direct investment opportunities in dedicated, pure-play companies linked to India’s remarkable growth.

Due to the demerger, each demerged company will have self-driven management teams, providing a platform for individual units to pursue strategic agendas more freely and better align with customers, investment cycles, and end markets. The demerger will also enable investors to value the growth stories within Vedanta’s businesses easily.

Bengaluru, November 19, 2025 – Vedanta Limited said in an exchange filing that it has incorporated a wholly owned subsidiary “Vedanta Finance IFSC Limited” in the International Financial Services Centre (IFSC) at GIFT City in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.

As per Vedanta, the move will help the company meet broader financial objectives. The incorporation, as per the exchange filing, is in line with the company’s commitment to financial excellence and capital efficiency, and the broader objective of optimizing treasury operations, cost of funding, and liquidity management.

“The proposed subsidiary will act as a financial conduit for treasury and capital market activities, enabling Vedanta to unlock efficiencies and strengthen its financial architecture in a globally competitive environment,” Vedanta said. The subscribed capital of the company is Rs 2 crore.

Vedanta’s move follows a growing trend among Indian corporates leveraging GIFT City for financial operations. Public sector companies such as NMDC Limited and GAIL India Ltd have also established subsidiaries in the IFSC to strengthen treasury capabilities and facilitate global transactions efficiently. Similarly, leading private sector groups like Aditya Birla Group have also set up presence in GIFT City. Major global banks and financial institutions are establishing units there, driven by favorable tax policies, simplified regulations, and the vision of GIFT City as a major international financial hub.

The incorporation aligns with the Government of India’s initiative to develop Gujarat’s GIFT City as a premier international financial hub, providing companies with access to a modern financial ecosystem and regulatory advantages. GIFT City is India’s first and only International Financial Services Centre (IFSC), enabling companies to directly engage with global investors and arrange financing for new projects.

As per the International Financial Services Centers Authority’s latest annual report, the regulator had authorized, registered or licensed around 864 entities across 35 business segments. Regulated entities in GIFT IFSC facilitated inward capital flows of nearly USD 50 billion into India via the banking and fund industry, of which USD 20 billion was in FY 2024-25.

Bengaluru, November 11, 2025: Vedanta Limited (NSE: VEDL), India’s leading energy transition metals, oil & gas, critical minerals, power, and technology conglomerate, reaffirmed its vision of building a future-ready India by empowering over 12 lakh children and youth through education in FY25, guided by its purpose of “Transforming Communities, Transforming India”.

Across India’s rural and tribal districts, where many children are first-generation learners and often at risk of dropping out to support family incomes, Vedanta is ensuring that quality education becomes a right and not a privilege. Aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2030 goals of universal access and future-ready learning and UN Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4 of Quality Education, Vedanta’s multi-tiered education model spans the entire learning lifecycle, from early learning and school readiness to remedial and school support, and career and job readiness.

Vedanta is driving large-scale, technology-led learning interventions that are shaping the nation’s next generation of thinkers, innovators, and leaders, through early learning, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) based digital literacy, inclusive schooling, and higher education pathways.

At the foundation of Vedanta’s education mission are 9,800 Nand Ghars, modernized anganwadis operating across 16 states that nurture over 3.2 lakh children through digital early education, nutrition, and healthcare services. These centres form the first layer of Vedanta’s education model, strengthening early learning and school readiness by integrating digital learning tools such as smart TVs. The content is customized in regional languages with holistic child development at its heart.

Building upon this foundation, Vedanta’s remedial and school support initiatives address learning continuity, quality, and retention across government schools. The company is enabling future-ready learning through focused investments in STEM, digital literacy, and inclusive education. In Odisha, Mini Science Centres and outreach sessions have engaged students in hands-on learning, while STEM labs in Rajasthan and Uttarakhand are bringing AI, AR/VR tools, and innovation hubs to government schools. The company’s E-Kaksha initiative has built one of India’s largest digital learning ecosystems with over 1.5 million subscribers and 12,000 educational videos.

This future-ready learning model combines curiosity with capability, preparing young people not only to learn but to lead in the innovation economy. Vedanta’s focus on school support and retention addresses the challenges of access, quality, and continuity in education. In Rayagada, Odisha, the Gyanjyoti programme has reduced dropout rates for hundreds of tribal students by introducing digital projectors and engaging local youth as facilitators. In Jharsuguda, Project Vidya has improved infrastructure and teacher support for 14,000 children.

“With Vedanta’s support in providing additional teachers, our students are finally getting the individual attention they deserve. Attendance has improved, and dropout rates have gone down. The change is visible in their confidence, learning, and overall growth. Vedanta has truly made a difference in our classrooms,” said Anjali Sa, Additional Teacher, Government Upper Primary School, Mundherkhet Village, Odisha.

Ensuring inclusivity and dignity, the company’s Jeevan Tarang initiative has enabled over 2,600 children with disabilities to pursue tailored education and livelihood pathways; one of the few large-scale efforts of its kind in India. Localized initiatives such as the Utkarsh Scholarships and Gyanshree Awards further bridge the digital divide and celebrate academic excellence among first-generation learners.

Extending its focus from learning to livelihood, Vedanta’s career and job readiness programmes are creating tangible pathways to employment and entrepreneurship. Through its Vedanta Foundation Colleges and schools, offering high-quality, subsidized education to students from underserved communities. With three colleges and four schools across Rajasthan, Maharashtra, and West Bengal, Vedanta Shiksha and its 50+ vocational training institutes have already enabled 20,000 job placements, equipping young people with industry-relevant skills and improving livelihoods.

“Vedanta’s education initiative changed my life. Coming from a small government school, I never imagined I’d one day be a gold medalist and start my career here. The support I received gave me the right guidance, structure, and confidence to aim higher and achieve more.”, said Rohit Maheshwari, Gold Medalist, MBM University & Vedanta Employee.

Furthering this continuum, Vedanta is progressing towards the establishment of Vedanta University, envisioned as a world-class education city, integrating global best practices in education, innovation, and research. It will be an integrated ecosystem, featuring a multidisciplinary university, world-class R&D and innovation hubs, a premier medical school with a cutting-edge hospital, advanced pharma drug research facilities, and a state-of-the-art sports complex with a modern stadium.

Through these community-centric approach, Vedanta is shaping a continuum of learning, from early childhood to employability, that strengthens India’s social and economic fabric. Vedanta is integrating access, digital empowerment, and skill development to build an India where every learner has the opportunity to grow, thrive, and contribute meaningfully to the nation’s progress.

Vedanta Champions Mental and Emotional Well-being in the Workplace; Offers AI-led Round-the-clock Confidential Support, No-questions-asked WFH for Mothers Resuming after Maternity Break

Bengaluru, 08 October 2025: Vedanta Limited (NSE: VEDL), India’s leading critical minerals, energy transition metals, energy, and technology conglomerate, pledged to continue redefining corporate wellness and prioritizing the overall well-being of its people.

Vedanta has introduced a comprehensive suite of initiatives to support the mental and emotional well-being of its employees. Understanding that mental health is central to personal and professional success, Vedanta is creating a safe, supportive, and stigma-free environment for women, men and an increasing base of transgender employees. The company is committed to building a workplace where every individual feels seen, supported, and set up for success.

Confidential 24/7 AI-led Support

In a pioneering step, Vedanta has upgraded its biometric attendance system to facial recognition technology, now integrated with Emotion Detection AI. This cutting-edge tool captures real-time emotional cues, offering valuable insights into employee sentiment. These insights help the company take proactive measures to enhance morale, well-being, and productivity.

Recognizing the personal and work-related challenges employees may face, Vedanta offers confidential counselling sessions and has partnered with platforms like Your Dost app, providing round-the-clock access to professional counsellors and doctors. Additionally, trained peer support groups and 24×7 availability of in-house counsellors or wellness buddies ensure no one has to navigate mental health issues alone.

A Safe Haven for Women

Fostering an inclusive and empathetic workplace, Vedanta has introduced a Buddy Program to support women resuming work after maternity leave. This initiative is designed to ease the transition back into professional life, offering new mothers a support system that is both practical and emotionally reassuring.

Under this program, new mothers are paired with Buddies—colleagues who act as trusted partners during the critical re-entry period. These Buddies are carefully selected and trained to provide consistent check-ins, helping the new mother reintegrate smoothly into her role while balancing her responsibilities at home and at work.

“Supporting women through all life stages, including motherhood, is a priority for us. We believe that when women thrive, organizations thrive. Coming back to work after maternity leave can be overwhelming,” said an official spokesperson of Vedanta. “Our Buddy Program ensures that no one makes that transition alone. The Buddy serves as a conduit between the returning employee and the organization, flagging any concerns and ensuring timely support. We have seen this work remarkably well in aiding new mothers settle back in smoothly.”

Vedanta has also introduced a “No Questions Asked” work-from-home policy, allowing all women employees to take one self-care day per month — no explanations required. This initiative supports a healthier balance between work and personal life, underscoring Vedanta’s dedication to gender-sensitive policies.

Power of connection
