The long-term agreement ensures a reliable supply of power to Uttar Pradesh for a period of 40 years, commencing from the project&#8217;s commercial operation date. The contract was formally signed by the General Manager of Commercial at NHPC and the Chief Engineer of PPA at UPPCL, with senior organizational officials in attendance.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>SHIMLA: </strong> SJVN has signed a Power Sale Agreement (PSA) with Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) for supply of power from its 900 MW Arun-III Hydro Electric Project. Concurrently, a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) was also signed with UPPCL for supply of power from its upcoming 210 MW Luhri Stage-I and 382 MW Sunni Dam Hydro Electric Projects.</p>
<p>The agreements were signed in august presence of Sh. Bhupender Gupta Chairman &amp; Managing Director (Addl. Charge) and Sh. Sushil Sharma Director (Projects) at SJVN Liaison Office, New Delhi.</p>
<p>On this occasion, Sh. Bhupender Gupta, CMD (Addl. Charge) said that these agreements mark significant step towards realizing SJVN’s commitment to clean energy transition and strengthening power infrastructure for urban consumers.</p>
<p>The PSA was signed by Sh. R.K. Gupta Chief General Manager (Power Trading), SJVN and Sh. Deepak Raizada Director (Corporate Planning), UPPCL and the PPA was signed by Sh. Ashok Kumar, General Manager (C&amp;SO), SJVN and Sh. Deepak Raizada, Director (Corporate Planning), UPPCL.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><span class="mceItemHidden">The Yogi <span class="hiddenSpellError">Adityanath</span> government has removed the power secretary and managing director of the <span class="hiddenSpellError">Uttar</span> Pradesh Power Corporation Limited over the alleged employees&#8217; provident fund (<span class="hiddenSpellError">EPF</span>) scam in the state-owned company, an official said.</span></p>
<p><span class="mceItemHidden">The move comes after the Opposition attacked the <span class="hiddenSpellError">BJP</span> government over investments of more than Rs 2,600 crore of the <span class="hiddenSpellError">UPPCL</span> <span class="hiddenSpellError">EPF</span> in scam-hit housing finance firm DHFL.</span></p>
<p><span class="mceItemHidden"><span class="hiddenSpellError">Aparna</span> U <span class="hiddenGrammarError">has been shifted</span> to the irrigation department as secretary. M <span class="hiddenSpellError">Devraj</span>, who has returned from central deputation, will be the new power secretary and <span class="hiddenSpellError">UPPCL</span> managing director, a government spokesperson said.</span></p>
<p><span class="mceItemHidden">The <span class="hiddenSpellError">Samajwadi</span> Party and the Congress have demanded that Power Minister <span class="hiddenSpellError">Shrikant</span> Sharma and the principal secretary of his department be dismissed. </span>The SP also demanded a probe by a sitting high court judge into the scam.</p>
<p><span class="mceItemHidden">Congress workers held a protest demonstration over the issue in Lucknow and demanded dismissal of Sharma, saying that a scam of this size cannot take place without the &#8220;connivance&#8221; of the minister.</span></p>
<p>Last Saturday, the state government had recommended a CBI probe into the matter. <span class="mceItemHidden">The state government had on Sunday claimed that the &#8220;dubious&#8221; decision <span class="hiddenGrammarError">was taken by the</span> previous government headed by <span class="hiddenSpellError">Akhilesh.</span></span></p>
