										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p style="font-weight: 400;"><strong>Dehradun, 7 January 2025</strong> – UPES, a leading multidisciplinary university in India, has taken a significant step towards enhancing its global academic footprint by forging partnerships with two of the world’s most prestigious academic institutions:<strong> The University of Edinburgh and King’s College London</strong>. According to the 2025 QS Global Rankings, these institutions stand at 27th and 40th place, respectively, epitomising excellence in education and research.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">These strategic collaborations are poised to foster academic excellence, drive research innovation, and facilitate cultural exchange, aligning with UPES&#8217; commitment to providing its students with global exposure and learning opportunities.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with <strong>The University of Edinburgh</strong> is designed to strengthen UPES&#8217; Global Pathway Programs and enhance progression opportunities within its School of Engineering. This partnership offers a range of integrated programs, such as 2+2, 2+3, and 4+1, allowing students to complete part of their studies at UPES and then continue at the University of Edinburgh. UPES students will be eligible for special scholarships, and the University of Edinburgh will confer the final degree. Additionally, students can opt for direct Master’s progression at the University of Edinburgh after completing their Bachelor’s degree at UPES, further expanding their academic and career prospects.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">The partnership with <strong>King’s College London</strong> encompasses various collaborative initiatives, including joint research projects to drive innovation in mutually beneficial fields. It also enhances student mobility by allowing UPES students to participate in exchange programs, summer schools, and other educational experiences, enriching their academic journey with global exposure. Faculty exchanges are also a key element of this collaboration, promoting the sharing of academic expertise and research knowledge. Furthermore, articulation agreements provide students with a pathway to continue their studies at King’s College London. The partnership also facilitates the exchange of academic publications, broadening the research impact and strengthening scholarly communication between the institutions.</p>

This collaboration aims to equip students with cutting-edge cloud computing skills, leveraging AWS’s comprehensive learning ecosystem and CloudThat’s expertise in instructor-led training.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">As part of the partnership, UPES will adopt a blended learning approach to train students in AWS cloud technologies. The curriculum integrates AWS Skill Builder, an innovative online learning platform, and instructor-led sessions by CloudThat. This initiative is designed to enable students to acquire both theoretical knowledge and practical experience, ensuring they are industry ready. This collaboration will enable students to gain a competitive edge in the job market by equipping them with future-focused skills highly sought after in the tech-driven industry 4.0.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">The <strong>AWS Skill Builder</strong> platform provides access to over <strong>600 courses across 30+ technical domains</strong> and <strong>more than 1,000 lab experiences</strong>. Students can develop practical skills through <strong>AWS Builder Labs</strong>, <strong>AWS SimuLearn</strong>, and immersive simulations like <strong>AWS Cloud Quest</strong> and <strong>AWS Industry Quest</strong>. Additionally, <strong>AWS Jam</strong> offers real-world problem-solving in areas such as security, DevOps, AI/ML, and cloud migration, ensuring a comprehensive, hands-on learning experience.</p>

<p style="font-weight: 400;">The MoU outlines several key areas of collaboration. Firstly, the institutions aim to work towards integrating WatSPEED’s high-quality, flexible course offerings with UPES’ expertise and student outreach, ensuring innovative and accessible learning solutions. This collaboration seeks to enhance opportunities for working professionals in India to upskill and reskill, aligning with the demands of the global economy. Secondly, the partnership aims to facilitate the establishment of international credit transfer pathways, enabling UPES students to seamlessly transfer credits earned from their programs to applicable courses or degree programs at the University of Waterloo. This process will align with the academic standards of both institutions enabling a smooth transition for students pursuing advanced studies abroad.</p>
