7th October 2025, Bengaluru: Homegrown kidswear brand Gini & Jony has partnered with Unicommerce, one of India’s leading e-commerce and retail enablement platforms, to streamline its online operations and scale its digital presence across India.

Gini & Jony, known for its stylish and comfortable range of kids’ apparel is available across 50 exclusive brand outlets, at 250+ retail points, its brand website and on multiple online marketplaces. The brand has implemented Unicommerce’s multi-channel order and warehouse management systems, to enable faster fulfilment, real-time inventory tracking, and seamless order processing for orders received across its brand website and multiple marketplaces.

Unlike adult fashion, kidswear requires frequent design changes, seasonal drops, and quick turnarounds due to evolving trends and age-specific sizing – all of which make inventory management and forecasting complex. Unicommerce’s technology solutions will help Gini & Jony manage inventory more accurately across channels, enabling faster, more reliable deliveries and an improved shopping experience.

India’s kids’ apparel market, valued at USD 24.56 billion in 2024, is projected to reach USD 29.35 billion by 2030. This growth is driven by rising disposable incomes, growing brand consciousness among parents and the expansion of organised retail and e-commerce platforms, which have made kidswear more accessible by offering greater variety and convenience to shoppers across the country.

Commenting on the partnership, Harsh Agarwal, CEO of Gini & Jony said, “The kidswear category within the apparel market holds significant growth potential in India, driven by a rising young population, increasing urbanisation, and growing demand for branded, fashion-forward clothing for children. Our focus is to increase our revenue share from our online channels, and this partnership will help us enhance our digital capabilities, streamline operations, and reach a wider customer base more efficiently.”

“The apparel segment is often cited as one of the most challenging areas to manage within e-commerce. This is due to a combination of factors which Unicommerce solves for,” said Kapil Makhija, MD & CEO of Unicommerce. “We are thrilled to partner with Gini & Jony in their expansion journey, enabling them to strengthen their digital presence and reach a broader audience across India’s evolving kidswear market,” he added.

29th September 2025 | Bengaluru: E-commerce order volumes saw a 21% year-on-year increase during the first six days of the festive season, according to an analysis by Unicommerce, India’s leading e-commerce enablement SaaS platform. The comparison accounts for the corresponding six-day period last year (starting 26 September 2024), with this year’s sale period which began on different dates across platforms.

This analysis is based on over 40 million transactions processed by Unicommerce’s flagship platform Uniware, during the first festive sale week in both years.

According to the data, quick commerce order items surged significantly, recording over 85% growth in volumes during the first week of the festive season sale. This highlights the growing consumer preference for faster delivery, positioning quick commerce as a key growth driver in this year’s festive sales.

The key categories that drove overall growth during this period included FMCG—led by healthy foods, followed by beauty & wellness, health & pharma—which saw a strong demand for nutraceuticals & supplements, electronics—fueled by increased sales of home appliances, and home decor products.

With integrations across sales channels, brands ensured product availability across multiple touchpoints. Brand websites recorded a 31% increase in volumes, predominantly driven by the beauty and wellness segment, including makeup, personal care, and hygiene products. The fashion category, primarily led by apparel and jewellery, also recorded strong growth.

Tier II and III cities continued to drive a significant share of order volumes, collectively accounting for around 58% of the total festive transactions during the first festive week.

As per the analysis, while metros and tier I cities recorded a 22% increase in order volumes, tier II and tier III cities together registered a 20% growth, compared to the corresponding period last year. The steady year-on-year increase in order volumes from Tier II & III cities also highlights the growing significance of these towns in driving festive season demand.

Most significant categories (by volume) in 2024: Fashion & accessories (29%) and beauty, wellness & personal care (20%)

Continuing rise of shoppers from Tier 3 cities: Volume growth in Travel Accessories (200%), Watches (100%), Books (85%) and gaming accessories (60%)

Discounts higher in 2024 (15-30%) Vs 2023 (10-25%)

Bengaluru; January 15, 2025: Unicommerce, one of India’s leading e-commerce enablement SaaS platforms, today shared the online shopping trends from 2024.

As per Unicommerce’ analysis, the two leading categories accounting for the bulk of online orders in 2024 were “Fashion & Accessories” (30%) and “Beauty, Wellness & Personal Care” (19%).

The analysis also sheds light on the rising penetration of online shopping in smaller cities. In CY 2024, Tier-3 cities recorded a significant YoY order volume growth across multiple categories. Travel accessories, led by backpacks, laptop sleeves, hardcase trolley bags, and motorcycle gear like leg pouches, mobile holders, and saddlebags, witnessed over 200% growth, watches logged over 100% growth, books registered over 85% growth, and gaming accessories saw over 60% order volume growth during 2024.

The Average Order Value (AoV) across product categories witnessed a sizable increase, with FMCG topping the chart with a rise of around 17% from INR 450+ to INR 530+ during CY 2024 as compared to CY 2023. Electronics & Home Appliances recorded approximately 12% jump in AoV from INR 1690+ in 2023 to INR 1900+ in 2024. Home Decor also recorded over 12% AoV growth, growing from INR 690+ in 2023 to INR 780+ in 2024.

As more brands offered exclusive discounts and limited-time deals in 2024, higher discounts were observed across top volume categories, including fashion, accessories, beauty, wellness, and personal care, health and pharma and FMCG goods. The discounts ranged between 15-30% during the year. This figure was in the range of 10-25% in 2023.

Returns are an important aspect of online commerce, with brands and marketplaces placing a lot of emphasis on using technology to achieve greater operational efficiency and to enhance consumer experience. In CY 2023, the percentage of return orders initiated by customers was around 10%, which dropped to 7.8% in 2024. On the other hand, the Return to origin (RTO) orders, which are undeliverable orders, grew slightly from 6.2% in 2023 to 7.3% in 2024.

In CY 2024, 62% of orders placed were prepaid, and these witnessed lower returns, with only 10% of them returned as compared to CoD (Cash on Delivery) orders, which saw higher returns of approximately 24% during the same period.

The rising adoption of omnichannel was seen in a 40% increase in the number of stores that deployed omnichannel technology. Ship-from-store order volumes increased by 50% in CY 2024 over CY 2023. Ship-from-store orders are online orders that brands process via their physical stores.

The analysis is based on transactions processed on Unicommerce’s platform in CY 2023 and 2024. In CY 2024, Unicommerce processed nearly 900 mn transactions on its platform.

~ Beauty & makeup products, dietary foods, healthy snacks & supplements, kids apparel as well as kitchenware were the other highlights during this year’s festive season sales ~

~ Tier 3 towns trump Tier 2 cities with higher volumes ~

07th November 2024, Bengaluru: The festive season sale 2024 has wrapped up on a positive note, with order volumes higher by over 14% YoY. The period also witnessed a GMV growth of over 18% compared to the Diwali sales in 2023.

Analysis by Unicommerce, one of India’s leading e-commerce enablement SaaS platforms, highlights that while the entire sale period presented multiple purchase opportunities, most of the buying happened during the initial days of the season sale. Exciting discounts offered continued throughout the month-long sale event, including sales for Navratri, Dussehra, Dhanteras and Diwali followed by Govardhan puja and Bhai Dooj.

Based on the analysis of orders processed on Unicommerce’s platform, relatively new e-commerce categories that were the top performers this year included travel accessories and health devices which noted a significant over 100% YoY order volume growth for each category. The gaming accessories segment also witnessed a remarkable over 85% YoY order volume growth during this period.

Other traditional categories which made a strong impression this festive season were beauty & makeup products with a whopping over 100% order volume growth this season as compared to the previous year. Toys & baby products and kids apparel also recorded higher order volumes with over 50% and 30% YoY growth respectively. Dietary foods, healthy snacks & supplements as well as kitchenware products noted over 40% and 30% order volume growth respectively during this period as compared to the festive sale last year.

Tier III cities and beyond areas outperformed tier II towns with higher market share of 36.4% in terms of order volumes as compared to that of tier II towns which stood at 23.5%. The market share of tier I cities and metropolitans was however the highest this year at 40.1%.

Brands and e-commerce companies continue to tackle order returns with the help of technology as the festive rush puts a greater load of orders on these platforms. Some of the categories that saw reduction in order returns this year were electronics & gaming accessories where returns fell from 20.5% in 2023 to 16% in 2024. The Books segment also noted reduced returns which accounted for 14% in 2023 and were down to 11.5% in 2024. The travel accessories category also saw a decrease in order returns from 20.2% in 2023 to 18% in 2024.

E-commerce sale events continue beyond the festive season sale, with many more upcoming sales, including the Black Friday Sale, Christmas Sale and the Year-end Sale.
