A role model inspires us to a higher living particularly in the fields which we look upto the person as a role model.

But a role model also does exactly the opposite sometimes, which is that it makes us feel inferior & destroys our sense of self worth & self confidence. We often surrender ourselves mentally to our role models. Hence, we reduce the innovative & creative power of our brain to think for itself.

In life, a role model maybe more successful than you, but not necessarily more intelligent. Because we are in awe of that success, we submit to their intellect. We have made a mistake in differentiating success from intellect. This costly mistake robs our minds from expanding its own power through introspection, & self thought. The power of the mind has weakened.
