Prior to his current role, he served as Chief General Manager (Geology & Reservoir) at OIL, where he led initiatives aimed at enhancing oil and gas field development in Upper Assam. Beyond his corporate responsibilities, Borgohain is actively involved with industry organizations, currently serving as Vice President of the Association of Petroleum Geologists (APG India) for 2023–25 and participating in organizing Geo India 2024. His membership in Delta-Mu-Delta, an honor society recognizing academic excellence, further reflects his commitment to his professional growth.
