KOLKATA. Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) celebrated its 79th Foundation Day in Kolkata, marking a significant milestone in the Corporation’s journey and reflecting on its decades of achievements. The grand event featured a special Rewards & Recognition (R&R) ceremony that honored employees for their outstanding contributions during the financial year 2025–26. A key highlight of the celebration was the unveiling of the DVC Ideacon Book, a unique compilation showcasing employee innovations and creative solutions.

The event commenced with a warm welcome address by Dr. D.V. Rajan, Additional Secretary, DVC, who formally greeted the dignitaries and the gathering.

In his address to the employees and guests, Chairman Shri Gurdeep Singh outlined a futuristic vision for the Corporation, targeting a total power generation capacity of 7.6 GW by the year 2032. This ambitious expansion blueprint will heavily focus on scaling up DVC’s capabilities across thermal, hydro, and non-conventional floating solar energy sectors. Aligning the celebrations with social responsibility, the DVC Women’s Association extended support to the community by making meaningful donations to various NGOs and old-age homes. The memorable evening concluded on a high note with a captivating cultural performance by legendary singer Usha Uthup and her troupe.

मानसून में भी नहीं रुकेगी कोयले की सप्लाई: SECL ने पूरी की तैयारियां

बिलासपुर: कोल इंडिया की प्रमुख सहायक कंपनी एसईसीएल (SECL) ने मानसून के दौरान अपनी खनन परियोजनाओं में निर्बाध (बिना रुके) कोयला आपूर्ति सुनिश्चित करने के लिए व्यापक तैयारियां पूरी कर ली हैं। कंपनी के सीएमडी (अध्यक्ष एवं प्रबंध निदेशक) हरीश दुहान ने गुरुवार को यह जानकारी देते हुए कहा कि इन कदमों का उद्देश्य देश की ऊर्जा सुरक्षा को मजबूत बनाए रखना है। बिजली उत्पादन और औद्योगिक कामकाज को सुचारू रूप से चलाने के लिए बिना किसी रुकावट के कोयले की सप्लाई बेहद जरूरी है, खासकर मानसून के मौसम में जब खदानों में परिचालन संबंधी जोखिम काफी बढ़ जाते हैं।

एसईसीएल, कोल इंडिया लिमिटेड (CIL) की सबसे ज्यादा कोयला उत्पादन करने वाली सहायक कंपनियों में से एक है। कंपनी वर्तमान में कुल 60 कोयला खदानों का संचालन करती है, जिनमें से 35 छत्तीसगढ़ में और 25 मध्य प्रदेश में स्थित हैं। इन 60 खदानों में से 40 अंडरग्राउंड (भूमिगत) हैं और बाकी ओपनकास्ट (खुली खदानें) हैं।

RANCHI. Shri Subrat Kumar Dash has assumed charge as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of NTPC Mining Limited (NML), the coal mining subsidiary of NTPC Limited. He officially took over the role on June 17, 2026, at the company’s headquarters in Ranchi. An Electrical Engineer by profession, Dash joined NTPC in 1989 as an Executive Trainee and brings nearly 37 years of rich experience in the power and energy sector. L&T Secures (Ultra-Mega*) Contract from Adani Power for 6,400MW Thermal Power for CarbonLite Solutions Business

Bengaluru, 11 August 2025: Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has secured an ultra-mega contract from Adani Power Ltd to set up eight state-of-the-art thermal power units, each with a capacity of 800 MW, totaling 6,400 MW of new generation capacity. The order will be executed by L&T Energy – CarbonLite Solutions (LTECLS), the company’s specialized business vertical for advanced power and low-carbon technologies.

The scope of work encompasses the complete design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, and commissioning of Boiler-Turbine-Generator (BTG) packages, along with auxiliaries and associated mechanical, electrical and control & instrumentation (C&I) systems.
