Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Acharya applauded their professionalism, dedication, and teamwork, which played a vital role in achieving the targets set for RSP under the campaign. He highlighted RSP’s continued commitment to community health, nutrition, and women’s empowerment.

As part of the campaign, conducted across the country from 17th September to 2nd October 2025 in convergence with Rashtriya Poshan Maah, RSP, through a joint effort of IGH and the CSR Department, carried out extensive outreach activities covering peripheral villages, schools, and slum areas. A total of 2,894 beneficiaries were reached through health camps and awareness programmes.

The initiative featured comprehensive health screenings for blood pressure, obesity, breast and oral cancer, cervical health, and joint-related issues. Alongside, awareness sessions were held on nutrition, hygiene, menstrual health, stress management, posture correction, gender equality, and prevention of sexual abuse. Yoga sessions were also organized, promoting physical fitness and holistic well-being.

As part of this national movement, Ispat General Hospital (IGH) of Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP), in collaboration with RSP’s CSR Department, has rolled out a wide range of programmes for communities around Rourkela. These initiatives, which began on 17^th September will continue till 2^nd October, are being implemented in peripheral villages, schools, and slum areas with a strong focus on women and adolescent girls.

The programmes include comprehensive health check-up camps, where beneficiaries are screened for blood pressure, obesity, breast cancer, oral cancer, cervical health issues, back pain, and joint pain. These screenings are designed not only to detect early signs of health problems but also to encourage timely medical intervention and lifestyle modifications.

Alongside medical examinations, awareness sessions are being conducted on critical topics such as nutrition, hygiene, good health practices, posture correction at workplaces, menstrual hygiene management, stress control, gender inequality, sexual abuse prevention, and balanced diets. Experts from IGH and guest resource persons have been engaging with women and students to provide practical tips for adopting healthier lifestyles.

To complement these efforts, yoga sessions are also being organized, underscoring the importance of physical fitness, mental well-being, and holistic health. These sessions are witnessing enthusiastic participation from women across different age groups.

So far, the campaign at Rourkela has benefitted more than 2,000 women. The initiative has received positive feedback from participants, many of whom expressed that such outreach programmes not only make healthcare accessible but also empower women with knowledge to safeguard their own health and that of their families.

With its proactive participation in the Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan, Rourkela Steel Plant continues to demonstrate its commitment to corporate social responsibility by addressing critical issues of health, nutrition, and women’s empowerment in the region.
