The AIIMS report declaring the death of Bollywood star Sushant Singh Rajput a “case of suicide” matches the conclusion the CBI’s investigators reached after their reconstruction of the incident. And a forensic audit of Rajput’s bank accounts has not thrown up anything “suspicious” to suggest that his friend Rhea Chakraborty could have pushed Rajput to suicide for financial gain, agency sources have confirmed to The Indian Express.

So the CBI, sources said, is now focusing on the gamut of reasons that could have led to the actor taking his own life: any role played by Chakraborty; professional rivalry and nepotism in Bollywood; effect of drug abuse and Rajput’s mental health.

Of the over Rs 70 crore worth of transactions through Rajput’s accounts in the past five years, only about Rs 55 lakh have been found to have been associated with Chakraborty. Most of these, sources said, were expenses on travel, spas and gifts.

“Chakraborty continues to be under scanner for abetment to suicide. But it is true CBI hasn’t yet found any motive for abetment. There was a forensic audit done of Rajput’s account. There is nothing concrete in the audit report to suggest that Chakraborty siphoned off funds and this led to the actor’s suicide. The expenses incurred by Rajput on her are comparatively small and can easily be explained as expenses on a friend. However, there are many angles to the suicide and our investigation is still on,” said an official privy to probe details.

Supreme Court on Wednesday ordered CBI probe in Sushant Singh Rajput death case resting all speculation on this suspected death . Maharashtra police , Sushant family and many Bollywood celebrities express happiness on this judgment .

Maharashtra home minister Anil Deshmukh said we welcome the court verdict and will give all help to CBI. He also said its high time that thinkers should also look in to federal system .

Supreme Court further directed the CBI to also look into any other cases registered in future in relation to the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. The SC said that the FIR registered in Patna by Sushant’s father was correct.

The Supreme Court has asked Maharashtra police to assist the CBI. The Kai Po Chhe actor was found dead in his apartment on 14th June 2020. While initially it was reported to be suicide, later reports suggested there might be a foul play. The family has demanded the death be investigated to get justice for Rajput.

Sc said in judgment Sushant Singh Rajput was a talented actor and died before his full potential could be realised. The Supreme Court said whether his unnatural death was the result of any criminal act must be determined.

Sushant Singh Rajput’s family and admirers are waiting for the outcome of the probe. To stop floating speculation, an impartial probe is the need of the hour.

The outcome of the probe would be a measure of justice for Sushant’s father, who lost his only son. The court also said an unbiased probe would result in “justice for the innocents who are targets of vilification campaign”.

When both states (Bihar, Maharashtra) make acrimonious allegations of political interference against each other, the legitimacy of the probe comes under a cloud.
