Speaking on the occasion Mr. Palai highlighted the importance of human life in the context of road accident. He called upon everyone to follow the safety rules and motivate others to do the same both within the plant and outside for betterment of self, family, friends, co-workers and society as a whole.

A Suraksha skit by Mr. R Mohanty, MOMT (T&RM) and the team was staged and a signature campaign owning the responsibility for safety was organised.

The Road Safety Pledge was administered by Mr. R K Muduli, CGM (Electrical), Mr. S Kartha, CGM (SMS-I) and  Mr. R K Bisare, CGM (NPM & SPP) in Odia, English and Hindi respectively.

The two Suraksha Raths are decked up with colourful posters carrying do’s and don’ts about safety and Road Safety sinages. One Suraksha Rath with public announcement system on road safety would travel across different units of the plant and the other would go around the township. The flagging off ceremony was coordinated by Mr. Bikram Padhy, AGM (SED).

Road Safety Human Chains are being organised at strategic locations by different Departments in association with the Safety Engineering Department.

The ongoing  month long programme comprises road safety awareness programmes, competitions and safety trainings for different segments of employees and contract labours.

The various initiatives are being organized by the Safety Engineering Department under the guidance of Mrs. Asha Kartha, CGM (Fire Services & Safety) and Mr. Abakasa Behera, GM (Safety).
