										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>As part of its plan to position itself as the focal funding agency for energy transition, the Power Finance Corporation Ltd (PFC), executed various MOU of more than ₹ 2.37 Lakh Crore with 20 companies both in public and private sector.</p>
<p>These MoU were signed with Solar, Wind Power, Green Hydrogen, Battery Storage, Electric Vehicle companies as well as the manufacturers of green energy equipment among others in the clean energy space. Adani, Greenco, ReNew, Continuum, Avaada, JBM Auto, Megha Engineering &amp; Infrastructure Limited, Rajasthan Renewable Energy were some of the companies with whom PFC signed the MoU. PFC is a leading financier of Energy Transition in India and these MoU highlight PFC’s commitment to consistently increase its energy transition portfolio and steer Nation’s drive of Energy Transition Goals.</p>
<p>The MoU assume significance in the backdrop of ongoing deliberations on energy transition under India’s G20 presidency.</p>
<p>PFC enjoys the unique advantage of providing funds for longer tenure at competitive rates and taking larger exposures. PFC is looking to fund projects like offshore wind, pumped hydro storage, solar modules and cells, among others in the clean energy space.</p>
<p>The MoU were exchanged in the presence of Smt. Parminder Chopra, Director (Finance) &amp; CMD (Addl. Charge), PFC, Shri Rajiv Ranjan Jha, Director (Projects) and Shri Manoj Sharma, Director (Commercial) at an event held on the side lines of G20 summit in Goa.</p>
<p>PFC recently diversified its loan portfolio by foraying into infrastructure projects such as refineries, ports, roads, metro, biofuels, waste to energy etc.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Airports Authority of India (AAI) wants most airports in the country to be fully reliant on green energy by 2024 and Net Zero by 2030</p>
<p>India currently has more than 140 airports, and that number is set to rise to 230 by the end of this decade. According to the AAI, more than 40 airports in India have transitioned to using 100% renewable energy, and the country’s top two busiest airports – Delhi and Mumbai – are among them. Delhi Airport was the first in the country to use a combination of hydro and solar power for 100% energy, while Mumbai uses hydro, solar, and wind power.</p>
<p>He said, as the first overseas office of HAL, it symbolizes the potential for closer defence industrial collaboration between India and Malaysia and also, the South East Asian Region.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>South Eastern Coalfields Ltd (SECL) will be developing rooftop and ground mounted solar power projects of 600 MW capacity in the coming years as part of the company’s strategy to expand and diversify its business and achieve the &#8220;Net Zero Energy&#8221; goal. SECL, is planning to develop the above projects at a cost of more than Rs.1000 crores. Some of these projects would be implemented in RESCO (Renewable Energy Service Company)/BOO (Build-Own-Operate) mode.</p>
<p>Solar power projects of more than 180 MW are already in various phases of development in the operational areas of SECL spread over Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh. It has recently commissioned rooftop solar projects of 580 kWp capacity in Johilla, Jamuna-Kotma and Kusmunda Areas.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Prime Minister Narendra Modi said it was unfortunate that he couldn’t view the eclipse because of clouds.<br />
“Like many Indians, I was enthusiastic about #solareclipse2019. Unfortunately, I could not see the Sun due to cloud cover but I did catch glimpses of the eclipse in Kozhikode and other parts on live stream. Also enriched my knowledge on the subject by interacting with experts,” he said on Twitter.</p>
<p>The eclipse, the last of this year, started at 8 am this morning and last till 11 am. Parts of India, especially south India, are witnessing this celestial event.</p>
<p>There is enthusiasm kerala where scientists and students have gathered to see the “ring of fire”. The sun is visible as a golden ring from Chervathur.</p>
<p>A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between Earth and the Sun, thereby totally or partly obscuring the Sun for a viewer on Earth.</p>
<p>This is the second solar eclipse of the century.</p>
<p>In the Indian sub-continent, the annularity phases will be seen within a narrow path grazing the southern Indian peninsula through Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu before crossing the Bay of Bengal for northern Sri Lanka.</p>
<p>Solar Eclipse is being witnessed from different parts of India. The year 2019 and the second decade of century is ending with an annular solar eclipse. The last solar eclipse of the decade has generated much curiosity in the scientific community and the general public as it will be visible from some of the post populated parts of the world including India.</p>
<p>Haryana&#8217;s Kurukshtera, site of Mahabharata war, is holding Surya Grahan Mela on Thursday. Security arrangements have been made by the district administrations and many pilgrims are coming to take a holy dip in Brahma Sarovar. There is a &#8220;kumbh-like&#8221; feel to the city today as thousands of devotees have descended here from all parts of the country.</p>
