During the visit, the DIC reviewed the drinking water facilities being provided to the residents of the resettlement colony and assessed their effectiveness in improving the quality of life for the local community. The DIC also visited the Training-cum-Production Centre (TCPC) at Jalda, established under the CSR initiative of RSP in association with Usha Silai and Gram Utthan. He interacted with the women working at the centre, appreciated their efforts in skill development and livelihood generation, and assured all possible support for the continued success of such initiatives. Thereafter he visited the Jalda football ground to encourage sports and youth engagement in the region.

The visit reaffirmed RSP’s commitment towards community welfare and sustainable development in the peripheral areas.

The MoU signing marks an important step forward—particularly in formalising partnership between the Campus des Métiers et Qualifications (CMQ) of France and Directorate General of Training (DGT) of India. The agreement outlines a comprehensive framework to promote mutual cooperation in key sectors such as fashion, hospitality, tourism, arts and crafts, energy, aeronautics, and media. It envisions exchange of information, experience and expertise; joint efforts to develop curricula, and set up teacher and training of trainer courses, including those with a focus on the French language. The MoU also proposes the establishment of “Franco-Indian vocational campuses” that would connect Indian training centres with France’s vocational education ecosystem, potentially anchored by partnerships with French and Indian industries.

The partnership will also promote internships and apprenticeships in both countries. Importantly, the agreement underlines inclusivity, with special focus on promoting women’s participation in all collaborative initiatives.

A Working Group co-chaired by MSDE and the French Embassy in New Delhi will oversee the implementation of the MoU. The group will coordinate activities, identify priority sectors and institutional partners, and facilitate exchange of knowledge and best practices.

The MoU brings together four key ministries from both nations—on the French side, the Ministry of National Education, Higher Education and Research; the Ministry of Labour, Health, Solidarity and the Family; and the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs; and on the Indian side, MSDE—reflecting a strong, inter-ministerial commitment to advancing skill development and vocational training through collaborative efforts.

In collaboration with the Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering and Technology (CIPET), Hyderabad, NMDC will fully sponsor training courses that include tuition, lodging, and associated costs. The programme aims to build a skilled workforce by offering industry-aligned courses in plastics processing, mould technology, and polymer testing.

Admissions are open from July 20 to July 30, 2025, on a first-come, first-serve basis. Courses offered include:

• Machine Operator (NSQF Level IV) – A 6-month certification course for candidates with minimum 8th grade education (400 seats).

• Diploma in Plastics Technology & Plastics Mould Technology – 3-year diploma courses for 10th pass students (80 seats).

• Post Graduate Diploma in Plastics Processing & Testing – 2-year course for science graduates (20 seats).

With 70% placement assurance through CIPET’s national industry network, graduates can expect starting salaries of ₹15,000–₹25,000 per month plus perks.

Nisha Dahiya, a 22-year-old from Bhaiswahi, a remote village in Madhya Pradesh’s Katni district, had to discontinue her studies due to financial constraints. Fortunately, after completing a warehouse packer course at the Adani Skill Development Centre in Kymore, her newfound skills led to her securing a job as a warehouse executive at Amazon India in Sanand, Gujarat, earning a monthly salary of Rs. 18,000.

Similarly, Swati Patel from Dithwara in Katni completed the same course and landed a job with Yazaki India, starting with a salary of Rs. 13,500 per month. Swati’s sister Priyanka, who trained as a beautician at the same centre, now runs her own parlour.

ACC and the Adani Foundation are dedicated to facilitating an environment for the youth to achieve their goals by transforming into skilled professionals. Their time at ASDC prepares them to secure their futures and create better lives for their families.

The institute has empowered numerous individuals, helping them overcome social and physical challenges to achieve financial independence and personal growth. The inspiring stories of Najma and Amarjeet Singh showcase the transformative impact of SEDI’s programs.

Life posed significant challenges for Najma from Nalagarh, following a difficult situation at home and the sudden passing of her father, the sole breadwinner of the family. Her journey towards self-sufficiency began when her cousin, who was undergoing training as an Assistant Electrician, introduced her to SEDI, Nalagarh. Desperate for employment, she enrolled in the General Duty Assistant course, and the on-the-job training at Dua Hospital, Nalagarh secured her a job opportunity at the same hospital.

A few months later, Najma joined G. Healthcare at Home Centre in Jalandhar, Punjab, where she now makes upto Rs. 25,000 each month. Her quality of life has significantly improved. Najma has been able to support her family in various obligations, including making some small investments for the future. Najma urges every youth to follow her brave footsteps and move forward towards developing a career. She testifies that training at SEDI helped her gain confidence, build self-esteem and improve her personality. Through SEDI, she was equipped to pursue her dream and get a job she desires.

Amarjeet Singh from Chakarma village in Punjab faced a severe accident that left his leg permanently damaged, plunging his family into debt due to medical expenses. Determined to support his middle-class family of seven, he began working at a salon and learned about SEDI, Nalagarh. After enrolling in SEDI’s Assistant Beauty Therapist course, Amarjeet opened his own salon, earning Rs. 45,000 per month and employing three people.

Despite personal hardships, Amarjeet continued his work with dedication. He credits SEDI for all his success, highlighting the training’s impact on his skills, confidence, and self-esteem. Amarjeet encourages others to join SEDI to achieve their dreams, emphasising the institute’s role in providing meaningful employment and personal development.
